  1. It's not like you do adjustments blindly though - there's preview how SVG looks at any given moment. So I'm not sure what you trying to say here...
  2. @wigglepixel @Inspirimental https://jakearchibald.github.io/svgomg/ Use this for any svg you have problem with. It cleans, simplifies, minifies, prettifies and whatnotifies xml code Never had any problem with importing to AS after running svg throuhg it
  3. After initial selection you can refine it further via "Refine selection" dialog. Also don't expect that any software will take care of everything automatically and do it perfectly. In some cases you still have to do things by hand
  4. One way of doing this: Duplicate image, make color adjustments on duplicate so discolored area matches original, then use transparency/eraser to blend duplicate with original
  5. Don't know - maybe it's intendent "feature", but it makes no sense so I consider this a bug. Basically - keyboard shortcuts and toolbar buttons don't respect settings in Align / Distribute panel. I have choosen "to last selected" but using shortcut or button always defaults to "selection bounds". Please fix this, as clicking on panel each time I want align something is very counterproductive .
  6. For basic 3D modelling I recommend vectary.com - for quick doodling is perfect, very easy to get grasp of it and with bit of patience you can create pretty advanced designs. And best of all it imoprts svg's which then can be modeled in 3D. Really great tool . But it's online only. Definitely I would pay money for something like this, but as desktop app with few more features (lightning control, some texturing, etc.) So, Affinity, maybe there's something to do here? You guys have done great job with simplyfying advanced drawing/photo software, so why not 3D next?
  7. @buckycore Until tool arrives you can use smart duplicate as workaround. Basically duplicate shape, apply desired transformation to it, and then duplicate again and again...
  8. Basically what title says - if there's many objects and snapping is enabled for anchors/boundaries then moving any object is very laggy. I get that calculations for all those snap points must be done and that takes power, but some optimization in this area is necessary, as I never experineced such behavior in other vector drawing apps. Also I find snapping dialog and it's options too messy - why not stick just with objects and page/layout? Or at least give us option for easy switch between presets
  9. @MEB Can you move thread to feature requests? Or delete this one, so I'll post again there
  10. @MEB If so, I'm forced to make this a feature request
  11. Is there a panel which displays basic file information - dimensions, color mode, size on disk etc.? Kill me, but I can't find it anywhere...
  12. @SteveSmith 100kb for 2048x2048px image implies rather strong compression, thus you have artifacts, plus facebook itself butchers images pretty bad... How obvious artifacts are depends of image - how many details, gradients ith have etc.
  13. I know that files are interchangable, and can be opened in other app from menu, but sometimes it's overkill IMO. When goal is to make some quick edits in one photo while document contains dozens of them, more convienient way would be just edit this particular image. Something like: select bitmap -> edit in Photo -> do what you want -> save directly back to Designer. Same thing could be useful in reversed situation: select vector object -> edit in Designer -> do what you want -> save directly back to Photo Cheers
  14. Second this, just make it as big as in Windows explorer - it's just right size. Panels are resizable anyway, so bigger font won't cause any issues I guess
  15. Think I was unclear in my previous post, sorry. If MS Store allows devs to have promo codes for their apps I don't really see problem. They are preapred that such situation can happen - some licenses will be given for free. It's not up to Microsoft to decide who can get code. Affinity can generate codes and hand them to whoever they want. Let it be new users or existing who want just to convert between versions.
  16. Don't know about MS store but in Google Play you can generate promo codes for anyone to give (thre's limit though - 500 by quarter). You won't get any money, but G won't get their cut either. Also you can distribute apk outside Google Play (even in other markets). Simple as that. Is MS so greedy, they want 30% even from "free" app?
  17. Ability to group copy and paste of guides would be nice. Or maybe even separate layer for them which can be copied between documents/artboards? Also: - double clicking on guide to edit it - when adding new guideline from manager its position should be preselected, so we can immediately start typing desired value. Clicking on "new" then double clikck to edit position is cumbersome. See Corel for inspiration, it's one of few things they done really right
  18. Finally I had time to play more with AD and here my two biggest gripes atm: 1. Why on earth keyboard shortcuts to align/distribute don't respect settings? In dropodown window I have set for example "last selcted" and from there it works as it should, but keyboard shortcut or even button on toolbar ignores this and always aligns to selection bounds. Also last selected object is inversly detected when selecting by click and drag. 2. When resizing text by diagonal handle, default behavior is to scale it proportionally, but when resizing other objects to do so I must hold Shift - it's very unintuitive
