srg got a reaction from GripsholmLion in Histogram of levels super slow to appear
I know, I posted previously, but you did not fix it so here it goes: histogram on levels adjustment layers is super slow to appear and at times just it does not come up. Wait and wait.
It seems to me ridiculous that you keep adding features to AP when there are so many annoying bugs. Fix these first and then add. Is so logical and a good commercial practice!!!!

I guess in new 2.1 now one needs to option+click y=to see the mask options. Thanks

Just bring back the V1 and it will be easier

srg got a reaction from Pšenda in layer thumbnails please...
the object type that is possible to remove is that little rectangle that repeats what is in the main square. Really nothing lost. This is a demonstration how redundant and confusing that system is: in the same layer we have a little rectangle, a bigger square, and a legend, all indicating and saying the same thing.

srg got a reaction from MEB in layer thumbnails please...
The layer thumbnails in V2 are so confusing, even removing the checkerboard (totally useless by the way) they confuse me. need to concentrate to know where I am working exactly, or which is a child layer and which is not.
Please, at least give the option to leave only the legend, such as "level adjustment" or return to V1.
thanks

srg got a reaction from walt.farrell in Assistant only occasional work on mask brushing
sorry about the confusion.
1) I create a layer and fill it with a color, reduce its opacity so I can see the subject in the layer underneath that I want to isolate. Add a mask layer.
2) I brush in the mask layer and create a mask. This is the plan.
At times, by mistake, I brush not in the mask layer, but in the fill layer and if I do not correct this immediately I end up with a mess.
When I do this by error, AP tells me that it added a new layer where my strokes went. And this is marvelous because I can erase this layer and I am good. But AP does this only occasionally and never in V2.
Hope to have been more clear.

srg reacted to Florida in Afinity Photo 2 extremely slow on copy and paste Mac Studio
I saw this frequently on Photo 1 as well, but only after a significant number of operations in the current session. I believe the memory management fragments terribly and takes longer and longer to function. I also have the same hardware but with M1 Ultra. Generally I watch the memory usage and restart if it grows too large.

srg reacted to MikeTO in Logitech MX mouse configuration
I have a Logitech MX Anywhere 3 for Mac mouse. The software lets you assign any mouse control to any key combination and so on. It has presets for Photoshop but this didn't require Adobe's assistance nor would it require Serif's assistance - it's entirely up to Logitech to determine which apps they want to add custom shortcuts to out of the box. But it doesn't matter, the whole point of the software is that you can assign it to whatever you want. You don't need Serif to do anything for you.
I deleted the software and am using the mouse "raw" with Apple's system preferences. It works perfectly in the Affinity apps and there's nothing I would want to change. I've used a couple of dozen mice over the years and this is the best one I've ever used, I highly recommend it if you like small mice or need one that works on a rough surface - I use it on the arm of my armchair. It also lets you pair with up to 3 devices so I use it with my iPad Pro, too.

Update: the problem happens also with the AP 1.10.4. Evidently started with the new MacOS Monterey.

Agree mostly.
When you have limited resources you must prioritize.
I cannot understand that Affinity prioritizes new features over crash fixing and functional issues. And i don’t think of OpenCL related bugs, im thinking of crash by unchecked user input, functionality not reached.
And when users request a functionality for years, Affinity should simply provide a clear statement (e.g. no support for Linux next x years) instead of ignoring the discussion completely.

srg reacted to NotMyFault in A Growing Lack of Confidence
I fully share the frustration.
I will continue to use the Affinity suite, based on heavy investment of my time to master the product and find efficient workflows. Never the less, i think it is high time that someone at Affinity like a product owner / product manager really starts to communicate with the active user base (forum users), hear their voice about priorities, and provide a raw roadmap how to overcome the painful issues.
Still convinced that all Affinity staff is really working hard, never the less I‘m deeply dissatisfied with Affinity as a company regarding their autistic behavior and complete ignorance to well documented user feedback.

srg got a reaction from Chris B in Layers disappear a nightmare
Hello, I upgraded my macs with the OS 11.5.2 and after an hour of work the problem seems almost completely solved. Only a couple of times I could not write a caption and that was probably related to trying to write before the caption was ready. So I feel the problems are solved and will post again after a more extensive work. So far so good and very happy that it was an apple problem.

srg got a reaction from Chris B in Layers disappear a nightmare
sorry to say that the problems persist in the v 1.10. Almost impossible to write a legend without going crazy and layers disappear after saving a file (probably they get merged in the process). It is getting so annoying and upsetting to use AP. I was hoping that the new IOS releases could also help but they did not.
Hope somebody could finally try to solve this.

Same here. Icon bounces at least 20 times in tray until the splash screen appears. Not sure where the improvement of launching speed is.
