  1. Been using V1 for a good while and just upgraded to V2 and have found I'm having an issue when converting to jpeg or any other non .AF file type. Basically when it saves it's putting all the white background as black. The only way I can stop this is by creating yet another layer with a white fill and place this at the back of all my working layers. Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere as it seems painful to have to add this extra layer all the time? Cheers
  2. Yep that's what I get but if I open the original up in photoshop everything is fine! This is the original file United Kingdom January 2022 - December 2022.pdf
  3. Hi - I'm experiencing an issue when importing PDF's - the latest example is a calendar template. I have the correct fonts on my machine. When I view the downloaded file in a PDF viewer it's fine. When I open it using any of the Affinity suite part of the PDF has random text, but the dates are all correct. (I've attached a copy of what I get) If I use place then the document appears correct but I can't open anything to amend. However if I use Adobe Photoshop I can open the document as it should be. If I resave in PDF format with a different file name then the AFfinuity suite all open the document okay. Not sure if there is a configuration that I may need to adjust - any ideas United Kingdom January 2022 - December 2022 corrupt.pdf
  4. Thanks Alan - I thought it was something like this, however for some reason I wasn't seeing the gradient bar on the text so I couldn't move the start and end points to vertical. Just reloaded Affinity and now get them so something wasn't playing ball! Many Thanks
  5. Hi all - I've been using the Affinity Suite for a while but only for basic stuff but one thing is bugging me and that is how to change the linear gradient to be up and down rather than left & right on text. Objects no problem, simply rotate but how do I do it with text? I've been searching but haven't found anything that helps as yet. Thanks
  6. Hi, I'm trying to move away from PS and AI for all my artwork and in the main have succeeded. However I have a couple of designs that use specific fonts and the artwork was designed in PS. However when I use the same font in any of the Affinity programmes (and also in the old Serif programmes) it displays the text differently. One in particular has drips from the bottom of the letters and when in Affinity the drips are totally different! If I look in the font directory there does appear to be two versions but I can't work out how to change the one that Affinity displays Thanks all
  7. I've recently built a business card design which incorporated the TTF font "Agate" The header was fine and then I went to fill in the client name in the middle of the card I typed the Forename in, space and then the second name capital, this automatically wrapped as though I was starting a new paragraph and try as I might couldn't get it to stay on the same line. If I changed it to lower case then it stayed correct and if I removed the space from the name it worked okay to. I tried it in PS and that does the same thing - But Word, Page Plus, Web Plus and Open Office all handle it with no problem. Any clues as to what might be happening as never experienced this with any other font? Thanks
  8. Right - I'm quite new at using the Affinity products but decided I'd had enough of Adobe Photoshop. Got to say I'm learning all the time and so far I'm mostly happy with the output I'm getting. Apart from this particular issue (and a second one which I'll post shortly!) I've used Affinity designer to set up some business cards for a client. So set the initial document at 300 dpi built the cards, and then exported as jpeg at max quality and also as pdf. However having sent them to the print shop they've come back and told me that they are low res images. Opened them both and both say 300 dpi. So I opened them in photoshop and both gave me 300 dpi. Resaved them from PS and printer said the res was now fine. Is there a setting I'm missing when I export or is it a glitch? This has happened a couple of times and I really want to sort it so that I can bin PS Thanks all
