I am a real newbie. I got myself a Nikon Coolpix P510 and am humbly learning how to get decent pictures. In the past I have worked with film cameras, when the electronics were not there, and that was useful to become acquainted with many concepts as as aperture, depth of field, overexposure, focal length etc.. Modern cameras have made life very easy, sometimes too easy, and my interest is now focused on photo editing to correct errors and adapt an image to my sensibility rather than pursue the exact reproduction of reality.
