  1. Thank R C-R and Lee D, With your encouragement and advice I preserved and learnt how to do it. All the best Jeremy
  2. If you can see this photograph. I don't have these on the right hand side of my Infinity screen. How do I find them?
  3. I am still having real trouble. I have watched both videos that Lee D recommended and have several problems. 1 I am having difficulty stopping the selection tool spreading all over the rest of the photograph (the one that I sent earlier) 2 Even when I think I have got it I dont have the same mask icon on the right hand side of my screen, as is shown in the "cutting out' video. I try to use a similar looking button in the top middle, but nothing happens. 3 The cutting out video suggests i export the end result as a png or a tiff. The people who I am trying to send the results to, have asked for a jpeg. ARRRRHHHHGGGHHHHH
  4. Thank you Lee D, I can only guess at what inverting means but am sure I will learn soon. I will watch the videos and then let you know how I got on. Jeremy
  5. Please help me. I am new to Affinity and to adjusting photographs. I would like to isolate faces of friends of mine from the the backgrounds in their photos. The isolated faces will then be given to a ceramic screen printer so that they can be made into transfers an put onto mugs and a teapot. I guess I need to select a layer and choose a tool that will paint over the person's face and then press something to just isolate just the face. I would then like to hand of a 8cm by 8cm size file with the face on. This is for someone's birthday. Thank you. Jeremy Bristow I will attach a picture of one of my friends. I just need his face. The second attachment shows the end result that I am looking for.
