Hi forum,
I'm currently designing a simple business card. On the back of the card I have 5 text elements and I want to arrange them so that:
- Each text is centered
- Each text has the same distance above and below to the next element
Is there any way of arranging the elements automatically? I'm currently moving them around and trying as long til the distances fit but every time I change a text, I have to start over.
Any feedback would be really appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks for the explanation. I'm still struggling a bit but I'm getting into it!
Have a nice weekend!

When I do that, the line that is created beteween the upper point and the red point is not straight but moves in form of a curve and I'm really struggling to get it straight.
Only, after I also removed the red point, the line now goes straight to the bottom of the letter (what I want).
Is there also a tool to tell affinity that the connection between two points should be a straight line and not move in form of a curve?
Thanks

Hi forum,
I'm trying to design a small logo and am using a little text for that. Unfortunately one of the letters in the text, does not look good for me. It is an small 'i' that has a serif at its upper end (see screenshot). What I'm now trying to do is to change this one letter. To do so, I already sucesfully converted the text into a vector graphic (convert into a curve is what the command is called like in German).
Now, I can in general take the points of the structure and move them around. However, I somehow don't manage to just get this into a straight "i". What I actually want to do is:
- Take the point from the upper left corner and move it right until it stands right above the round red point
- Mark the red round point and the other point that I just moved and make the curve go straight from one to the other
- all other points between them, can be erased, I just need a straight line here.
I'm really struggling with the complexity of the product on how to achieve this. Can anybody give me a hint on which commands I should look into?
Thanks

Hi forum,
The title of this posting does not really meet what I'm trying to ask/explain but I could not find any better words.
I'm using Affinity designer for 1-2 weeks now and really love it. However, when I put my MacBook to sleep and reopen it, Affinity designer often looks like in the screenshot attached. I can still guess where my artboards are but there is no content. The software itself seems reactive but there is no other way to work with the file again then closing the software and reopening it.
As I put my MacBook to sleep pretty often, this behavior is really annoying.
Is anybody else here experiencing this?
Thanks

Thanks! I was alomost there before but there was a dropdown menu where I had to choose "Document" first.
Now, it's working!
Thanks again

Hi forum,
As a complete newbie to affinity designer I have been pretty proud to manage to add a custom color as a global color (I hope this term i correct. In German its called Globale Farbe).
However, I picked the wrong color :-(
Now, I'm desparately trying to remove or update the global color but cannot find any way to do it. As the color is only slightly wrong I don't want to keep it in the global definitions in order to avoid accidentially picking it.
Can anybody give me a hint on how to do this?
Thanks

Hi MEB,
thanks for your quick reply!
I went for the first solution and added a rectangle for which I changed the mode to Erase. Nice solution!
Thanks a lot

Hi forum,
I'm new to Affinity designer but I really start loving this tool. It's the first tool of all the design tools that I find worth to at least try to lear more about...
I'm currently working on a very simple, first project: A business card. As part of a logo on this card, I'd like to play around with the dot on the "i" in the text of the company name. I'm not yet exactly sure, what I will end up doing with it (different color, rotating, leaving it out completely) but as a first step, I'm looking for a way to remove the dot from the "i".
So far I have been considering to place an rectangle over it but I cannot find a way to make the rectangle have always the same color as the background (as I said: dumb newbie). But I also somehow think that covering it up may not be the best solution. Maybe, there is also a way to really erase it?
Thanks for all your comments in advance
Norbert

Thank you so much! I knew that such a feature must exist but couldn't find it.
Have a wonderful weekend!
