  1. Thanks Meb, Ill have a look tomorrow but that sounds like a great solution, as sometimes i have hundreds of cutouts to do. So anything to speed things up. i always use the pen tool for cutting out studio shots because its so much more accurate. Affinity Photo is looking more and more viable to use as part of my work flow. Thanks again. :)
  2. Hi Meb, Thanks for the quick response, seems to do the trick nicely. So a path within a path becomes subtract and a path outside your original path becomes add? and if you want to keep the path for later use, group those layers, copy them and convert to selection? a little long winded but it dose work. Thank you, ill have play. :)
  3. I was wondering if it is possible to draw more than one path with the pen tool on a curves layer. for example if your producing cutouts and the object is not completely solid? When i close the path and then go in to draw a second path, this is then rendered on a separate Layer. So with a complicated object this will result in multiple layers. is there any way i can get them all on the same layer so when i make the path into a selection it makes life easier? is there keyboard shortcut I'm missing? Any help would be great...
  4. So first off I've had a really good play with Affinity photo and i have to say I'm very impressed Great Work. A couple of things that I've had problems with... 1.. Changing a path into a selection has sometimes not worked. after returning to the file later the same procedure has worked. (When changing to a selection from a path the new layer simply disappears? I'm guessing this is due to having lots of files open at the same time? Its just the way I work) 2... when painting a mask the brush doesn't always work although i have selected the correct layer then later the same day its worked flawlessly strange. The only thing at the moment that i find really tricky to understand is the Levels panel as it seems to work on a percentage system. I'm used to the sliders in Capture One and Photoshop so i can really fine tune with the eye droppers or quickly pull the sliders in on the histogram to the desired spot then adjust the mid point, I find this method much more intuitive, it might just be me. On the whole i think your doing a great job and I truly love the application so far.. looking forward to the release of the full version i will certainly be getting my penny's out of my pocket.. Thanks for providing Professionals with a viable alternative to the application we have been held to ransom to without an alternative for far to long.
