  1. Maybe one is just editing photos for fun and already has an iPad and don't want to invest in an expensive Wacom tablet for doing something they aren't getting paid to do?
  2. So you're on iOS 11 on your iPad? Is Affinity Photo working as it should? I mean, can you import raw files from your photo library for example? Any other problems? Is it worth trying out the beta on my iPad? The features look so intriguing.
  3. Interesting. So you're using a 9.7" now and it's too small? Are you going for the 13" then? Or the 10.5?
  4. I can't even see thumbnails and previews of my images when shooting compressed with my xt2 so I'm forced to shoot uncompressed. (Macos/iOS)
  5. I'm having a hard time deciding between the 12.9 and 10.5" pro's. I have the first gen 12.9" and while the l estate is amazing it comes with a lot of bulk. I'm carrying it alongside my 15" laptop to and from work everyday and it doesn't fit any of my bags tablet compartments and is quite heavy and bothersome to use on the bus. I'm just worried that 10.5" might be too small to edit photos on, which is my main use on the tablet after all. Anyone got some insights?
  6. Hey guys, I'm on an iPad Pro 12.9" first gen at the moment and while I'm really loving the screen size for photo editing and media consumption, I'm not really digging the size for transportability. I carry it to and from work alongside my laptop in my bag and it doesn't fit the tablet compartment in any of my bags and it's kind of heavy and awkward to pull out on the bus. Therefore I'm looking at the 10.5" iPad Pro and I'm just wondering if anyone in here went down in size from the first generation and if so, are you happy with your purchase? Is it still manageable to edit photos and stuff on it or does it feel too small? Thanks.
  7. FANTASTIC! So fast with the import raw files from photos update, now I can finally start trying out the app!
  8. Well yeah, in part. In Lightroom I always pick my favorites from a shoot and Import all of them. Some pictures might have been underexposed on purpose so you want to quickly raise the shadows before deciding if it's a keeper when rating etc. I scroll through all photos and make quick adjustments all in Lightroom mobile at the moment. I've heard you can't hdr or stack raw files in affinity for iPad, is that correct?
  9. Maybe the slider problem is to do with affinity photo itself and not the app you used to import the files? Does that app let you import several items at once into affinity?
  10. If I develop my raw file after some quick adjustments, then decide I want to do more changes and go into the develop persona again, do I still have access to the same raw data? Or has everything been converted into a pixel layer? Also, if I develop my raw file and then add a filter, let's say I use the filter for shadows and highlights. Does that filter then take use of the full data from the raw file or is it a pixel layer as if it was a jpeg?
  11. Yeah, that's why I'm upset, I'm on my summer holiday now in Bali. Ah well, I guess you can't expect everything to work straight away..
  12. I completely agree, you use the undo button ALL the time. It should be where your left thumb is. (Or right thumb in left hand mode)
  13. So, you want to be able to import raw photos straight from the photos app, is what you're saying? Me too. For HDR I'd also want to be able to import several photos at once.
  14. I have that exact same workflow. It's very nice for on the go use. You usually don't have a solid internet connection when traveling and you certainly don't have a computer with you to import files to and then upload them to the cloud to then be able to import the files into affinity, it's a really strange decision to force people to sync files to the cloud to be able to edit them when this app is made for people who are on the go. If you have a connection that's solid enough to upload a full days shoot of raw files then you're probably not on the go at all. Being able to do everything offline is essential and therefore I'm forced to stick with my Lightroom mobile workflow as of now. I don't have to rely on fast internet and other devices than the iPad. I guess I could import the files to my iPad, then send them to the cloud from the iPad and then import them from there but that still requires a fast internet connection which is impossible to come by when traveling and requires an extra step which is very unnecessary. Another thing I enjoy with Lightroom that's not available in affinity photo is the ability to import several photos at once, that's a really important feature when shooting brackets to create hdrs. I've emailed the support about this feature and they said that they've flagged it as a "to do" but have no ETA. I'm just so confused about this decision. They make an app for on the go use and then render using it on the go impossible.
  15. What do you mean by this? Importing raw files straight from the ipads photo library is already possible and is up to affinity to implement. It's been possible to do so for quite a while in Lightroom mobile for iOS and works very well.Am I misunderstanding what you mean? I read something similar in another thread where someone wanted to be able to import several items at once and someone else said once again that it was up to apple to implement that feature, but yet again it has been possible in LR mobile for a long time. Are you just spreading information about stuff that you have no knowledge of or am I actually misunderstanding you? If that's the case I'm sorry. If not, then get your facts straight. Importing raw files straight from your photo library is possible in other apps, hence it must be possible to implement and should very much have been so before the release.
  16. Having it completely adjustable will be difficult, allowing for two panels to swap places might be easier, but I don't know. It will be interesting to see what happens next for sure.
  17. Why would it be more dense if you just swapped places between the tools and the quick menu? It would be the same amount of buttons just placed a bit differently. Edit: oh, you want EVERYTHING on the left side, that's not what I meant, I just want the quick menu on the left where I have my thumb and then have the tools menu on the bottom. That way you can fit more tools on the screen as well. Seems like a win/win. Easier access with your thumb and more space for the tools.
  18. Yeah, I use it with only my left hand too, that was the point?
  19. MacBook Pro 2015, always on wifi and always on the latest firmware on both phone and laptop. It's just working awfully so I never rely on it. AirDrop however, has seen HUGE improvements since it first released and I use that all the time now, for everything, it never fails me.
  20. Yeah, just want to chime in, handoff has never worked for me at all, I've tried with several different devices and computers and it's just always super unreliable.Sometimes the apps I'm using show up on the computers dock but when I click them they just disappear. The clipboard sync never works at all either.
  21. Alright. I mean, just a quick fix for importing raw files from you photo library is at least a bare minimum.Importing several files at once is a really nice to have and seems like an absolute basic functionality but at least it's not making the app useless, I literally can't use it without being able to import and export files locally. I.e importing raw files and exporting jpegs locally, since I don't have a strong enough internet connection when on the go. I'm sure I can't be the only one. I just started a two week vacation and I'm really hoping this is a quick fix because that would make my trip a whole lot nicer. Lightroom mobile can only do so much but it's my only option right now.
  22. Wouldn't it make sense to have the adjustment buttons to the left where to toolbar currently resides to have easy access with your thumb? Or do you guys not hold your tablets with the left hand while painting with the right? That way you could choose w=tools with the pen and then only have your left thumb for the adjustments, like brush size etc. Photoshop fix is set up in this manner and it works really well. Sadly photoshop fix has nothing on a fully fledged affinity on the go. :) Also, directly importing raw files from the photos app and then saving them to camera roll when you're done isn't working, why? In the current state of the app it's not possible to have an offline workflow which makes this app completely useless when traveling. Thoughts on this? Edit: apparently saving to camera roll does work, sorry about that.
