  1. Perhaps something with directories: I got another event when converting at once many photos from embedded to linked. Unfortunately, I was too buzy to record the details. I have several sections or chapters of the book in different directories or disks. I need to chage that. I found an expected consequence in link addresses with too long names, about 120 characters. I use long file names to quickly identify the many stages of edition. Some needed to relink. Now think that the best to avoid broken addresses is to return to the embedded system at chapter files, joining one by one, in a bigger, huge, book file. And seems best for this type of work to choose linked only for archive and edition purposes. I need to do lots of work on this subject as soon I will find a way to crash I will report it. Thanks.
  2. Thanks. The online help is also good to find things we are not looking for yet...
  3. Hi Walt, I found Resource Manager in a search. I try to find it in Publisher and only calling Designer it appears in my view menu. Thanks.
  4. Hi Gabe Is the first time I used Manager, a very useful function with SAVE AS PACKAGE. I used a My Passport SSD with 500GB and with 24GB free. I copied the working directory with all the files to a My Passport disk with 1.6 TB free. I succeed to link the last file embedded that was missing. I test only with more one file and it worked nice. I repeat renaming file and dir returning to SSD again and it worked. I forgot to say that when the problem happened a running blue circle appears a few seconds before vanishing. If is better to work local I will do it later, because my PC is nearly full, and need to decide what I will remove. Decisions... I have more old files to convert to linked and will report later if the problem reappears. Thanks.
  5. I´m writing a book with many photos using Publisher- 1.10.1. 1142 I did it chapter by chapter to work with shorter files. In the beginning, I was using an embedded option for photos. Now I understand the advantage of linking when is necessary to locate and correct something. So, I was updating a chapter from embedded to linking and used the RESOURCE MANAGER from DESIGNER. Is very easy to do it, line by line, unfortunately. I did a few lines (photos) with success. With PC windows task manager I confirmed that the CPU and Memory load was not too high. But after linking a few photos, when I updated more one photo from embedded to linked the process that was working fine was becoming harder: as soon the conversion was done, the program crashes and disappears. I cannot have time save it. I decide to save the work for each line I did, but that is time-consuming procedure. The .afpub file ( 45MB) has 12 pages with linked photos The dir /LINKED with the original 94 jpg photos has 2.54GB The photos have about 20 to 30MB each The PC has 16GB RAM during the work show about 50% memory free and CPU 40% load. Please help. Thanks. Fernando ...... 6. I got this error too: I was using Publisher and saving small changes in a small document: a few pages of a photo book. I was duplicating blank pages (master pages with many guides) when I got the error message. I am ignorant in video cards, but I tried to change in Preferences/Performance from the default HD Graphics 530 to NVIDIA GTX950 and after change all seem to be OK. But until some solid update is published is risky for me to invest in big work. Perhaps in small steps of small files, to add them later in the book. 7. Would like to find commands for easily positioning text in callouts
  8. I have Affinity Design and Affinity Photo in Win10. For portability, I want to buy AD and AP for a new Ipad, that I need to choose and buy soon. My main use of the Ipad will be to use the Affinity software. I need to choose between the new Ipad Pro 11 inch or 12.9 inch (with the new pen). But I noticed that in your compatibility list the new 11 inch Ipad is missing. 11 inch will be a bad choice? The 12.9 inch will be better to use AD and AP?
