Hi Eduard,
Apologies for the delay in a response.
From what I can see here the panning seems relatively smooth for me in all but Software Rendering, Metal seems smooth from what I've seen, and openGL there is a very slight delay (compared to Windows).
I am asking the developers to take a bit more of a look into this, we'd expect different levels of performance based on what is being used to render, but at the moment I can't reproduce the lag/stutter as badly as your video indicates.
Thanks and apologies again for the delay.

Hi Scottyb,
I can't reproduce this here yet.
Any chance you can attach the file you are duplicating from, just to make sure we have it all set up the same?
Thanks
-
This is something we are aware of, thanks for the report

#1 - The margins aren't being scaled here, it's a bit of a debate but we recently ensured guides scaled so I will get this logged. Thanks for the report
#2 - This works for me, are you testing this against columns and not column guides?
#3 - I haven't reproduced this yet, will look into this a bit more and see if I can reproduce the crash
#4 - Can you attach an example document?
#5 - I'm not sure I understand what's wrong here? We warn the user of the danger of the action they are about to take, so they can cancel the action and replace the master instead if they would prefer to do that? I don't understand your last sentence, can you clarify what you mean please.Regarding the hyphenation issue, you can add hunspell spelling and hyphenation dictionaries of any language of your choosing, there's some information in the help that advises you how to do this.
Those 4 language setting you mentioned are also covered in the help, but they do the following:
QuoteSpelling—specifies the language dictionary to be used for spelling. This will be the default used by the other language options if they are unmodified (set to Auto).
Hyphenation—specifies the language dictionary to be used for hyphenation. This can be used if a specific hyphenation dictionary is not available for the spelling language, but a suitable substitute is available. For example, it is possible to use English (Australian) spelling with English (United Kingdom) hyphenation.
Typography script—specifies the language script to be used when applying OpenType rules. For example, the Ordinals OpenType feature ‘ordn’ applies mainly to Latin script, and the Petite Caps feature ‘pcap’ only applies for scripts with both upper- and lowercase forms (e.g. Latin, Cyrillic, Greek). The list of available scripts will depend on the current typeface.
Typography language—specifies the language to be used when applying OpenType rules. For example, several OpenType features should only be applied to Japanese or Chinese text.
Thanks -

Hi VolkerMB,
The typeface change is logged with us, as is the font panel being overlapped, thanks for ensuring they got reported

I believe these are essentially the same options, so it makes sense when one changes in one studio the other does, as you are editing the text frame inside the table cell.
You can use the text frame studio to change alignment for text within a table, which seems correct to me.

Hi thomaso,
Apologies your other thread got missed, I've logged this along with the other thread for the developers to look into.
Thanks
-
Thanks for reporting this, I've logged it
-
Thanks, we get the crash at slightly different point but it looks like the same crash.
This should be fixed in the next build
-
Hi subsquare,
Are you able to reproduce this crash at all? Is it something you've only experienced with the file you are currently working on?
Thanks
-
Glad you got it installed @dth
@JohnBIpswich Please follow Walts suggestions and attach the logs if you don't have any luck, there might be some information in them as to why it is failing.
Thanks

Hi CP16
Good spot, I'll get this logged.
Thanks

We are aware of an issue where copying/pasting into another app can cause a crash, and this sounds another instance of that crash.
If you can attach a crash report which can be found here: %AppData%\Roaming\Affinity\Publisher\1.0 (Beta)\CrashReports\reports I can double check, as Joachim says your document may help too.
Thanks

Hi canalhos,
So i can reproduce a crash here when performing the same steps in your video, but only if I attempt to make a selection after you seem to double click in the text frame before the app crashes, this is a recipe/bug we are currently aware of
I can see you double click in the frame, do you then attempt to make a selection?
It might be useful if you can attach the latest crash report after you get this crash which can be found here %AppData%\Roaming\Affinity\Publisher\1.0 (Beta)\CrashReports\reports
Thanks

The afpub file you have attached appears to be truncated and isn't loading for me, want to try uploading it here and I'll take a look?
You might be able to fix these by clearing all formatting around hyperlinks, then removing and re-applying the hyperlink but i'll know more when I can see the file.
Thanks
-
Thanks for that Tom.
I can reproduce the issue here so have logged it for the developers to look into
-
Thanks for the additional info.
This is logged with us and should hopefully be fixed in the next available build (subject to testing!)
-
It's worth noting certain filetypes won't provide much of a filesize reduction when linked (Affinity files, pdfs)
-
This looks like a very similar crash to one we already have logged with a similar recipe, so this is already logged with us.
Thanks!

Any chance you can attach the word document here? Or upload it here if you want to keep it private.
-
Thanks, the video helped and I've logged it
-
Good to know, thanks!

Hi Seneca,
I logged this when looking at this thread a while back, it seems to be the same as this thread from what I can tell.
Unfortunately the issue is still with us and as you state hasn't been resolved yet, but I will give it a nudge since I there's been a few threads on this since it got logged.
