  1. Hi @stuartbarry, This isn't the first time we've heard of this happening to a file, we can normally recover them if that happens but we are still investigating what can cause a file to get into the state yours got into. If you are have already rebuilt it and want to work from that it should be fine, if it happens with that file you can send us the file and we can see what we do. Can you let me know a bit about your workflow before this started happening? Do you copy/paste inbetween files much or use "Edit Detached" modes on master pages?
  2. Hi @Buell8abe, I can see the issue in the attached pdf you uploaded, but am struggling to see any issue in the example afpub file you provided when I export it. Can you attach the PDF you exported from the uploaded afpublisher file? I may also need access to the fonts used inside the file
  3. Thanks, I can see this too, I'll pass it on to the developers
  4. @Robert@PCC Can you create a new thread, we will likely need the file. We are still investigating what can cause a file to get into this state, unfortunately until we can reproduce getting a file like this from scratch it's hard for us to fix, but if you supply us the file in a new thread we will see what we can do.
  5. What font are you using, and what are you viewing the PDF in? It might be worth uploading the file here for us to take a look.
  6. Are you able to reproduce this or was it a one off? If it's reproducible it would be useful to see the document Are you able to show the history tab and see what command is being added to it when you press backspace? Thanks
  7. Hi Jan, We do have an issue logged with large image heavy documents using up a lot of memory, and consequently then using up additional HD space to be open. I'll give this a nudge.
  8. Hi @Buell8abe, Can you upload the document and a screenshot of your export settings here If you open it in a different PDF viewer (for example, using Chrome) do you see the lines in every PDF viewer?
  9. You can upload it here and we'll take a look
  10. That does indeed seem to be the case, it works as expected on Windows but not on Mac, I've logged this. Thanks!
  11. This is correct. I've logged the inconsistency in the measurement unit used between OS's, thanks for the report
  12. Hi @Bobbob, Thanks for reporting this, it's something we are currently aware of.
  13. If you work from the one I resaved it should be more stable, it's fine to leave it here though. Thanks for the info and hopefully we'll be able to reproduce getting a file into this state (which makes it a lot easier to fix!) If it ends up happening again let us know, along with what was being done before it happened!
  14. Thanks, there's some useful information in there that will help! Just knowing that you didn't use edit detached is helpful (for reference, it's a way of editing a detached version of a master page on a specific page, allowing you to make unique changes) The object i'm referring to is shown in the attached screenshot, I'm curious if you made this an inline object intentionally? This is the object that was causing the trouble Was this on the resaved version I sent or the original?
  15. Hi @Lemonsprig, We've seen this before but have always struggled to reproduce it happening, unfortunately this file has become a little corrupt, although since it's quite small I've recovered it (I had to replace a text frame on the master page). That file is attached. I don't suppose you have any more information that might help me reproduce this happening? Did you use the "Edit Detached" mode at all when working? On page 1 of the corrupt file there is a pinned inline object (this is the dodgy object that I cleared), did you pin this at all before this happened? clock-4-jp.afpub
  16. I did reproduce it with your file, but after it had successfully saved, it seems to have removed the vague corruption inside the file. We have seen this happen before, if it happens again let me know and I'll pass the file over to the developers. Can you let me know anything about your workflow relating to master pages and pinning before this happened?
  17. Thanks @gabrielm, I found it a bit inconsistent, we have seen this happen to files before but normally it is consistently reproducible. I'm still looking into it, but I've sent you a PM with a version of the file. I'm curious if this still crashes on save for you, let me know.
  18. That xlsx file in both Excel and LibreOffice has a lot of blank columns, and it's defined in the XML of the file, indicating the cells go as far as AMJ: <dimension ref="A1:AMJ21"/> I don't think we are doing much wrong here, the file has a lot of empty columns defined in it and we are just honouring that, if you open that file in Excel you can see all the blank columns, and if you create a new sheet those don't exist.
  19. If you want to upload it to this link it will only be visible internally, and we can take a look. Thanks
  20. Are you able to upload the file you were exporting from and the settings used to export? What are you viewing the PDF in, if you try other PDF viewers does it look the same? Thanks
  21. A. This is a bug and is logged with us, it is because the document DPI of both documents aren't the same, and it is doing some scaling based on that that it souldn't be. If you change your document with the picture in to 300 DPI the text styles should import as expected. B. This is also logged with us, we've seen this from IDML import as Joachim mentioned, which I guess is what this file was created from? Thanks
  22. If you are displaying a page from an embedded document and the font has been substituted it will print with that font, not the original, so it will be worth checking. It's a good idea and has been bought up before, we have something logged relating to it so this may change in the future
  23. It looks like this did end up in publisher so have unhidden it! Is this missing font warning from preflight or when you open the document? If it's from preflight it might be looking into a placed document inside your document
