  1. Hi Highvoltage,

I can't currently reproduce ctrl and click duplicating objects, it just simply selects the object if it is inside a group for me. As Matej mentions resetting the program might help you resolve it, but it won't help us fix it in the future as we haven't reproduced it in house yet.

If you choose to reset, before you do so could please zip up %AppData%\Affinity\Designer\1.0 (Beta)\ so we can try reproduce it here?

The ctrl drag undo bug is already logged and is unfortunate, if you view the History tab you can see why it doesn't undo the duplication, since it treats the duplicate as one undo step and the transform as another, pressing undo again will get rid of the duplicate, but it should hopefully be fixed in a future version.

    Thanks

Edit: Just seen your reply, since a ctrl reset hasn't fixed it, can you let me know if you still get the issue by simply creating a 2 object document, grouping them and then ctrl clicking one object? Does it duplicate it every single time?

  2. Sorry you are encountering issues, there's probably a unique recipe for an issue you keep stumbling across, so any useful information on your workflow would be useful in helping us track it down.

Have you been getting exceptions or just experiencing crashing to desktop? If the program raises an exception on the next runup it should send a crash report. When it does this it provides you with a reference, if you can screenshot this and attach it here we can look into the crash reports to help us try track down the cause of your crashes.

    Thanks

  3. Hiya,

So i've tried to replicate a similar document setup to what you explain and haven't had any luck replicating any "craziness", especially something that an undo wouldn't fix.

What type of constraints do you have set up on the children objects? As that could be the reason I can't reproduce it.

If you can attach me a sample file that shows the issue it would help make sure that i'm not missing anything when trying to reproduce it.

    Thanks :)

  4. It would be alot easier to say it is a feature, but it looks like a bug to me! If you have the colour tab visible at the same time you can see it change as soon as the width reaches 0. I'd expect it to remember the colour that was set even if the width is 0. It also behaves this way on the mac version.

I'll get this logged for the developers.

Thanks for taking the time to report it!

Edit: This is actually reproducible on the mac and is already logged, just needs a slight tweak to the recipe

  5. @sperl42 - There is no way to downupgrade a 1.5 to 1.4 file at the moment, simply because a 1.5 file could contained saved features that 1.4 won't understand, so it would be very dangerous to let 1.4 open a 1.5 file. You can move files between the Mac and Windows versions if you use the 1.5 beta on the Mac.

@Minh - The installer removes the latest version for you before installing the new one, so you will be fine just running the installer. If you uninstalled it yourself first you would just be saving the installer some work :P

  6. We've seen a couple of times the location for the program window get incorrectly saved (it tries to place the program window somewhere that isn't visible basically), I reckon you've encountered this.

Can you remember anything specific you were doing the last time you used the application? Also do you have more than one monitor (or more specifically, did you have one the last time you used the app?)

If you hold down CTRL while running up the program and tick all the boxes it will do a reset, and should solve the issue for you. But if you can give us any information to help reproduce it that would be great.

    Thanks

  7. Hi Sharkey,

Sorry i'm a tad confused about which tool you are using, are you using a brush tool to achieve this (you mention setting the flow rate?).

It depends on the type of colouring you are doing, but I personally would just make a selection with the freehand selection tool on a new layer, add a colour to it and change the opacity of that layer.

Whilst looking into this I did notice a slight oddity with setting the opacity via the colour tab and applying that colour to a pixel layer that already contains pixel information, which I have logged, so it could be you were encountering that.
