Choosing between GPU or WARP
Jon P replied to lucasw89's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on Windows threads
Hiya, You should aim to be using your GPU to do the rendering, it will basically be much faster. Which is why it will select your GPU by default. WARP is more for a fallback, incase for some reason we fail to detect your GPU or there are some issues using the GPU to do the rendering. You can read more about WARP here. -
Reproducible "exception error"
Jon P replied to MartinK's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on Windows threads
Thanks for reporting this, we already have it logged for the developers to look into :) -
I've just done a bit more poking and the only workaround I can offer whilst we look into this is to uninstall Logitech Options. I couldn't see any options that would prevent it crashing, but if it is interrupting your workflow then uninstall will prevent the crash from happening for now!
-
We've reproduced this with the 510, i believe it is related to the Logitech Options software, but regardless it is now logged for a developer to look into. Edit: After looking into this a little further we are fairly certain it is down to Logitech Options, as uninstalling this prevented the crash from happening for me.

Hiya, We got this mouse ordered in, at first I couldn't reproduce it but I installed "Logitech Options" which seems to enable smooth scrolling and so forth. As soon as that was installed i can now reproduce the crash, so will get it logged for a developer to look into. Thanks for reporting this, and providing me a reason to get a new mouse for my work computer :P.

Reproducible crashes with tif
Jon P replied to MartinK's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on Windows threads
Well that's a fairly unique recipe, but I can definitely reproduce the crash! I've logged it for the developers to look into, thanks for taking the time to report it, and for an easy to follow recipe :). -
Thanks for reporting this, it's been logged :)

Focus Merge washing out final result
Jon P replied to hedrickbk's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on Windows threads
Hiya, The forum upload limit can be a bit annoying for RAW files! Would you able to upload the files to dropbox (https://www.dropbox.com/request/Y3yjmelqkQEZw3CP7LaV) for us to investigate this further? Edit : Just seen the additional reply, feel free to upload your files to the same dropbox for when we look into this :). Thanks -
Cycling through dropdown menus with the arrow keys
Jon P replied to JQL's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on Windows threads
Hiya, I agree it can be a useful feature, assuming the dropdown you want to interact with has focus. i've logged this as an improvement request :). Thanks -
Hiya, We have an issue where the brush list doesn't update the language used when it is changed, so i assume you ran up in pt-br, then changed to English? Later on in the building most pt-br translations will be in, so if you would prefer to run it in pt-br hopefully our translations should be acceptable! If not you are welcome to raise localisation issues.

Brush actuates when panning with mouse
Jon P replied to 1stGarden's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on Windows threads
Ah nicely done MEB, it seems to be relating to the mouse movement after the panning, if you barely move it between each pan it's easy to reproduce! -
Brush actuates when panning with mouse
Jon P replied to 1stGarden's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on Windows threads
Hmm, i've just seen another user post that they have encountered this issue but we haven't been able to reproduce it yet. It might be OS specific so i'll do some more testing. I don't suppose you have the AD beta installed currently and can tell me if you also get it in that? I assume each time you move using the pan tool it adds a history entry too? -
zoom panel not updating in a certain case
Jon P replied to alexplus_de's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on Windows threads
Hi Alex, This got spotted the other day and has been logged. Thanks for ensuring it got reported :). -
Settings lost on shut down
Jon P replied to vin31cer's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on Windows threads
That setting seems to be remembered for me when the app is closed and re-opened (setting it via Tools > Customise toolbar). Is the app remembering other defaults? Such as measurements units used/language when being re-opened? -
Hiya, I can't seem to reproduce this at the moment, pressing space just enables panning, and I get nothing appear in the history tab. Any chance you can upload a short video of this in action to help us reproduce it? Thanks

Problems with Affinty Photo on Windows 10
Jon P replied to chrisranthony's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on Windows threads
Do you get any specific errors when running it up? It is a beta OS that you are running, but i'm not aware of any reason you should be having issues. I'll get the build installed and see if I can reproduce any install issues -
Hiya, The first issue I can see what you mean, but I would kind of expect this behaviour, you are starting a drag operation which isn't complete until our import dialog is closed. However i'm not entirely sure that we need to hold on to the file explorer window at this point, so i'll get it logged. It could very well be "By Design" though and unavoidable. The second issue, we already have a couple of small kerning bugs logged relating to PDF import, so your suggestion is valid as an alternative. Any chance you can attach the PDF so I can just check it's similar to what we have logged? Thanks

Hi DWH, Sorry for the late reply. Have you had any luck installing photo since posting this? I know it's a bit obvious but this sounds like the kind of issue that would be resolved be a restart. If you are still having issues can you let me know the size of the affinity photo exe you've downloaded? Thanks

Hiya, Windows aero is just part of Windows 7, so you just need to enable it! This is not needed for Windows 8 or 10 however. On Windows 7: Choose Start > Control Panel > Personalization. Choose one of the Windows Aero themes Let me know if you have trouble with it :)

Can you clarify for me that it you are tilting the mousewheel left/right and this causes a crash, but scrolling up/down is fine?
-
Actually it would also be helpful if you could let me know which specific mouse is your using?
-
Hi Cimica, I'll hunt around for a similar mouse in the office, if not I think I have one at home lurking around. Once i get one i'll try and reproduce this :). Thanks for reporting it!
