  1. Hi dnels, I've tried opening this in the last few builds but not had any luck, it looks like it's become corrupt. Is the last saved file also in this state? I will log this for the developers to look into to see if we can try figure out how this happened. Did you encounter any odd behaviour when last saving the file? Thanks
  2. Hi afdojo, I think we probably just got some mixed messages as I could have worded some stuff better (You are correct that I was wrong with the order of the text frames when i looked at the file). Either way, the bug that I logged when looking into this is now fixed, so if you download the latest beta (1.7.0.257) and still encounter this issue then I'll go through this and try suss out what I missed! The example file in your initial post seems ok for me now if I update the index (without changing anything else in the file). Thanks
  3. Hi Polyeder, I'm struggling to reproduce this, can you clarify how exactly you are setting the tabs? If it's possible a short video demonstrating the issue would help! Thanks
  4. Hi Joachim, Unfortunately create document from palette isn't designed to work this way at the moment. There are future plans to improve this feature to correctly retrieve fills that are used in the correct colour modes. Essentially at the moment it just retrieves a render of the pdf which is leading to some inaccuracies Thanks
  5. Hi fay, That is odd, can you open open up winver (just type winver in the start menut on Windows 10) and screenshot what it says so we can try look into this a bit further? Thanks
  6. Hi Postmadesign, Do you experience this slow and lack of responsive behaviour in a new document with a new table or only in the current one you are working on? Can you clarify which values you are attempting to increase/decrease in the Table Studio? What values are you changing by dragging left/right? I've reproduced some behaviour here with some values failing to be increased/decreased in the Studio (some Inset settings) and will get this logged, so thanks for reporting it. Thanks, Jon
  7. Hi Doug, Thanks for the clarification, I'm fairly certain the issue I logged for this covers getting a file in this way, where the index can be out of date. I notice your "Right frame" is on the left and vice versa, and I've reproduced this (the issue I've logged relates to moving text frames from left/right and it affecting the index numbering like you've experienced).
  8. HI @Gralvik Any chance you can attach the file so I can look into this a bit further? Thanks
  9. Hi Robinp, Thanks for the document, interacting with it seems fine on my end and a save to desktop took less than 10 seconds, I'll test it on some different systems and see if I can reproduce the slow behaviour. It's a bit hopeful, but it might be worth resetting the app (you will lose any user settings) by holding down control whilst running it up and seeing if that improves performance at all. What are the specs of your Mac? Thanks
  10. Hi robinp, I assume this slow behaviour is not present on a new document? If so are you able to upload the document here Thanks
  11. Hi @arou84 A fixed version of your file can be found here It encountered a bug which can leave a file in a "corrupt" state. Our developers have fixed the file but unfortunately there is still a recipe to get a file into this state that we are investigating. Any information you can provide me on what steps you were taking before the file started showing this behaviour (or if you have an older version of the file without this issue) would be useful to help me pin it down. Thanks
  12. Hi wilkinson.bj, Can you attach the file you created the screenshot from? I've included a dropbox link if you'd like to keep it private. https://www.dropbox.com/request/JtGnIC0lOojJQ2WCMWcK Thanks
  13. Hi afdojo, Thanks for reporting this. I've had a go at producing a similar file, however it all worked fine for me until I changed the frames around (which is what you mention fixes it, but for me it was what I had to do to "break" it in the first place). I'm curious if you did you do a similar thing to get the file in this way to begin with? Either way I think we should deal with this scenario better so have logged it for the developers to look into further.
  14. @Meztli Upload your file here https://www.dropbox.com/request/ZQF2uQNlgbknDUBEUa2Y and i'll take a look @kgbearcat That's good to hear, i fear it might be a red herring though, if you turn on guides with your file open does the program then crash?
  15. Ah, that figures as we install 4.6.2 so I was quite confused as to why Windows Error Reporter was giving a 4.0.3 version number (and how you got the software installed without us installing 4.6.2), and was looking into why that might have happened. I'm honestly not sure why Windows Error Reporter gave a 4.0.3 .NET version in the error report. As it does look like 4.6.2 is rightly installed. I'll pass this on but I suspect it's an issue that may lie with Windows side of things.
  16. Thanks libfree that was very useful, Your .NET Framework is quite out of date which will be the cause of the crash. If you install this net framework it should resolve your issue. I have noticed some behaviour with our installer that i'm investigating from this, I'm not sure how you are on such a low framework when our installer installs a later version by default, so am investigating this.
  17. There should be a button to switch between embed/linked. It should also however be the case that images inserted from the clipboard are embedded by default. It sounds like when pasting in some of these images it created a link which is now broken and prompting these messages to appear, did you do anything special when copy/pasting them from a browser? If it's not too large it might be useful to attach the document (I can provide you a dropbox link if you want to keep it private/it's too large for the forums) so I can look into it a bit more.
  18. Hi Kosta, If the images are embedded as the default suggests then that message shouldn't be appearing. In the resource manager (Document > Resource Manager) are the resources showing as linked or embedded?
  19. Hi Keith/libfree, It's a shame it seems to be falling over before we are even generating the crash dumps. I do agree with the suggestions here that this could very well be font related, we do blacklist a font if it fails to load to prevent this but it could be encountering multiple bad fonts, or there could be another issue here. At the moment we are a little limited in ways to investigate this, can I ask if either of you are familiar with Windows Event Viewer if you can look in application logs and see if there are any errors in there? Asides from that potentially backing up fonts and clearing them out to test this would be useful, but I appreciate that's quite a bit to ask. I'll update this if I get any further information on ways to investigate the exact cause of this.
  20. Hello libfree, Can you please go to %AppData%\Roaming\Affinity\Publisher and backup the 1.0 (Beta) folder somewhere. After this please hold down the CTRL key to reset the application, tick all the boxes and click OK and then let me know if you still get a crash. Thanks, Jon
  21. Hi Frederick, Apologies for the delay in my reply, we had a few reports of customers getting issues with a crash whilst scrolling and have identified one of the issues, but it turns out it this isn't the cause of the crashes you are experiencing. We are still investigating this and i'll update you with any new information. Do you have crash dumps from the newest build? It would help us narrow this down a bit further.
  22. Hi somewhereinusa, Unfortunately there is an issue with hyperlinks on the master page not being exported at the moment, which is what is causing the behaviour you are experiencing. This should (subject to testing) be fixed in the next build, along with some other hyperlink fixes. Thanks
  23. Hi kgbearcat, If you can upload the file here https://www.dropbox.com/request/xtJ6amZwHAuLws1jwzhe i'll have a look. Thanks
  24. Hi William, That lines up with what we have investigated so far, there is a recipe somewhere here for a file getting in this state that we are still investigating. Anyway, the fixed file is here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4o5v2yw72g2xcyo/Prospectus_Final_Rough_Draft - Fixed.afpub?dl=0 Thanks!
