Pšenda got a reaction from R C-R in 'Right Studio' headings accidentally condensed
Unfortunately, the tooltip doesn't really show up on Windows.
Working with tooltips is really sad in Affinity At the same time, it is such a simple and obvious thing.😞
Edit: The progress achieved in the use of Tooltips is really not significant.

Pšenda reacted to GripsholmLion in VISUAL REMINDER “BLEND OPTION” / RAPPEL VISUEL "OPTION DE FUSION"
I have started to add a tag colour (at the bottom of the layer context menu) to blended layers; but, of course, this relies on me being diligent and consistent, so it does not always happen!

So is Snapping Candidate, HW Acceleration, etc. Just features and options that cause unnecessary worry and confusion for inexperienced users, and would take a few seconds for knowledgeable/experienced users to set up.

Pšenda reacted to GarryP in Affinity Photo v2 Brushes Palette missing
I don’t doubt its usefulness for those who want it but, after my experience of providing limited ‘support’ in these forums for a while and seeing how often this sort of thing comes up, I just don’t think that it should be set by default, for all users, out-of-the-box.
I’m not saying that we shouldn’t be able to have it if we want it, only that I don’t think it should be there by default, and that’s all I’m saying.

Pšenda reacted to walt.farrell in No print range text field in v2?
Did you have Pages in Designer? I think you probably had Artboards, instead. And thus having a Page range in the print dialog wouldn't help.

Pšenda reacted to NathanC in Transform origin usage during scaling/ resizing
Thanks @Pšenda I've now logged this with regard to the status bar tip not changing and will let the docs team know.

Pšenda got a reaction from R C-R in Line spacing
Just to to clarify - does this mean that different Leading Override parameters were used in the Text frames? But then your initial, and several times emphasized information, that the Text Styles are exactly the same, is incorrect and quite misleading. That's why everyone tried to look for possible other influences that could cause this behavior with the "same text styles".
And just for completeness - the issue with Leading Override was mentioned at the beginning of the thread "Various settings can influence the leading, for instance leading override or baseline grid."

Pšenda got a reaction from NathanC in Transform origin usage during scaling/ resizing
Hi @NathanC, It would be good to mention this in the Help, and also fix it in the Status bar - even if Transform Origin is enabled, and resizing with the Ctrl key will be done around it, so it says "around the centre", not "around the Transform Origin".
Edit Help: it can be found there with a little searching (although it would be better to use an unambiguous label with capital letters - Transform Origin),
but some comprehensive and more detailed description of the Transform Origin switch would certainly be useful.
The current description is not very accurate.

Pšenda reacted to suseeq in Line spacing
Never mind folks.
I took the same question to another forum and a very intelligent and polite woman asked me a couple questions, avoided criticizing and on her first try, not only solved it but did so by plainly listing the path to the area where I could change the spacing (using 3 words)... without needing a picture or file. Then a single sentence.
I find it laughable that where she sent me was not mentioned ONCE by ANYONE here.
AND FYI: NOT A SINGLE PERSON HERE EVER ASKED ME TO PROVIDE A SCREENSHOT OF MY ENTIRE SCREEN. So the criticism is invalid.
Psenda,
I started a new topic and it was not in a version 2 thread.
I am just going to delete any more notifications without reading them. And it was so simple> Text tab> Show Character > Positioning and Transform. Last field box in left column.

Thomaso
Please butt out. You are rude and arrogant.
This is my first time here. I gave all of the in formation that my limited knowledge encompassed. When asked, I provided pictures. When told I needed more complete pictures I supplied them to the best of my ability.
Clearly I'm rather a novice at this. I came here for help; not to be criticized for asking for help from someone more experienced than I am.
Clearly you think you are the smartest person in the room and that EVERYONE should know everything that you do or they deserve your tongue lashings. I imagine that the only reason you come here is just to parade your brilliant, magnificent knowledge to validate your perceived superiority. I guess it figures, it's not the first time that attitude has been unleashed on the world.
Notice that you are the only one that has been nasty; everyone else has actually tried to help in a polite manner.
I have a PhD in Psychology. When someone asks me to help them on an issue within my field...(or any issue), I don't insult them for the way they asked, how they phrased it or hand out any kind of criticism. I am smart enough to assume that if they were an expert they wouldn't be asking the question. I ask, politely, for more information if I need it. Then I do my best to keep asking until I get what I need and try to explain the issues in a polite manner.

Pšenda reacted to R C-R in Quick FX
It isn't obvious but on the right, where it shows Colour, Opacity, Offset Tool checkbox, etc., that is a section of the Outer Shadow Quick FX panel. You can see the collapsed Gaussian Blur Quick FX below it but nothing above Colour.
Everything above the dashed area is missing:

Pšenda got a reaction from PaulEC in Add Auto-Resize Text to Fit Feature to Publisher
It is not a retrograde - Affinity is a completely new application created from the ground up, which Serif (as he has stated many times here on the forum) is gradually adding the necessary functions to.

Pšenda reacted to Tom Zimberoff in Loss of Sharpness After Copying
That seems ridiculous to me. It's either sharp or it's not. If you can see the difference with your naked eyes on a computer screen, what the heck do you think a five-foot-wide print will look like?
