Pšenda got a reaction from Tomthepen in NO backwards compatibility from Affinity V2 iPad files to Macbook Affinity V1.
Try export as PDF, and Open (import) in V1.

Pšenda reacted to Brian_J in How do I reduce file size without affecting the printed quality in Affinity Designer or Affinity Photo?
If a file is resampled when changing the DPI, the change in resolution effects file size and image quality. But DPI on its own has no effect… i.e., if DPI is changed without resembling.

Pšenda got a reaction from walt.farrell in Turn Off Outline (Designer)
This brings me back to the idea that I presented here years ago - why is such a very specific function that rather confuses the user (mainly by its expression - see dozens, maybe hundreds of posts) enabled by default? If the user is knowledgeable and wants to use this function, he can turn it on without any problems - he knows what it is and therefore knows where to enable it. But it's a big problem for uninformed users - what is it? why is it here? reinstalling didn't help! what should I do with it?

True, but in fairness, you need to know that it's Snapping before you can check the Help for it

Why don't you set a much more suitable and acceptable keyboard shortcut?

Pšenda got a reaction from dre. in Layers Panel - Hard time seeing layers.
Your text (your layer description) is black, the gray is only the description/explanation of the layer type, which anyway disappears after entering your name/description. This is duplicate information about the layer icon and its hint/tooltip.
Loss of contrast is unfortunately a "trend" in Affinity applications.

Pšenda reacted to Dan C in File preview STILL not working in explorer or Affinity with OneDrive saved files (works with CorelDraw)
@dre. I have previously answered, and provided more than a reasonable amount of information regarding this issue in the separate thread you have posted in, linked below.
Users in this thread are not 'trolling' you by providing concise, correct information regarding the Affinity apps and integration with the OS File system. These are other Affinity users who are being kind enough to try and explain this further to you, even after receiving an official response from a moderator.
This is not the first time you have accused users of 'trolling' here on the Affinity forums, and to be rather frank with you I do not believe you completely understand the meaning or context of this word, in this regard. This is not 'trolling', simply because you do not like or agree with the responses being given.
I am locking this thread from further replies, as the question has been answered both here and in the second thread linked above. If there is new information to be provided, please do so in the original thread.

Since it looks like you are opening work files directly on OneDrive, keep in mind that Serif has repeatedly recommended here on the forum (always in connection with the problem of damaged and lost files) to work on local drives, and to the cloud saves only for backup or file sharing.

I think any argument is futile here. I don't know if it's a language problem or a problem with understanding the meaning of the operating system dialogs, but unfortunately some of the information mentioned here many times remains completely unanswered, so the discussion keeps going round and round.

It is obvious that you do not understand the content of this post - see,
but try to read it again, or try to ask someone who would explain it to you.

Pšenda got a reaction from Westerwälder in Affinity Suite "Light" version
I'm just wondering - why would Serif do this? Why should he spend valuable resources (development capacities), which he obviously lacks even on regular/saleable applications, on some three other "testing" (so apparently not even saleable) applications?

Because it's part of the Affinity app? - so it would be quite strange if the application couldn't read and display its own files.
For the Open dialog, the standard dialog from the OS is used, in this case it is part of the Windows (Microsoft) operating system. So it is a matter of the OS (Microsoft) whether it understands the file format and therefore whether it provides their thumbnail.
P.S. Although I don't have a problem with the file preview for locally located *.afsuite files, when opening from the OneDrive folder, the preview is not displayed - this function is not implemented in the OS (specifically in the OneDrive application), and it needs to be added/developed by Microsoft.

But you may have noticed that the explorer whose services Open dialog uses offers other services that Recent dialog does not. Whether it is the display of document properties, different preview sizes, etc. So, apart from the fact - that this is not the right step, because properly applications "should" use OS services to the maximum extent possible, so a lot of users will be very disappointed with this proposal of yours.
You may have also noticed that Affinity will display a preview of a file located in the OneDrive folder, but always at the cost of downloading it locally from the cloud. So if someone uses the "Free up space" method, they will be very disappointed with your solution.

Respect, is not trolling my posts, I'm not trolling you.....you are trolling me. Please show me some respect and stop. I don't believe Serif condone trolling either. It's not the first thread you've trolled me on either. Please stop.
I am unclear as to what your point is? I have shown that my "recent" files show their thumbnail. What I have said is that Serif can use the same functionality for "open" so I can see the thumbnails of the other files that I may have worked on previously (or on another machine). All my files are stored LOCALLY and in the CLOUD

Respect, please. Ignore my posts if you don’t like them (this is the official advise from Serif how to deal with the situation).

The filler text is just scrambled Latin and cum is a valid preposition in Latin. If you find it distracting, you can add your own filler text in Settings.
