Pšenda reacted to Paresh in composite opacity
I tried that but lowering the opacity shows the blank document beneath.

Pšenda reacted to Seneca in Can affinity designer redefine colors?
I wouldn't call colour management in Affinity apps a mess. It's just that's it's not there yet. But we learned last week that this is the next thing the developers are going to work on.

And why is this thread called "Feature Requests & Suggestions"?

Pšenda reacted to walt.farrell in Image opened and zoomed quality issues
As you're looking at a RAW image you may find that Photoshop is automatically applying some sharpening, while Photo is not.

Pšenda got a reaction from Old Bruce in Problem cropping
Yes, if one image has been uploaded and copied to the text four times. However, if the image has been uploaded four times and then inserted four times into the text, only the extra unnecessary files will be deleted in this way.

Pšenda reacted to Old Bruce in Feature Request: User Defined Fields
I would like user defined fields too, but I have to work with the tools I have, not the ones I want.

Pšenda reacted to lepr in Help creating speech bubbles, Photo vs Designer
Text is vector in all three apps and speech bubbles can be created and remain as vector in all three apps, and all three apps export to the same variety of vector and raster file formats.

Pšenda got a reaction from emmrecs01 in From Mac to Win
At Affinity too.
All you have to do is buy an OS bundle/pack. It is a bit more expensive - 3x, but then the OS is irrelevant. And for users who are not interested in the possibility of switching to another OS at all, the basic price is still reasonable.

Pšenda reacted to walt.farrell in Promote Group to Layer
But note that my sole contribution to that topic was a housekeeping one, pointing out how feature requests work in general, and the proper way to draw someone's attention to something. I made no comments about the functions being requested, and hadn't really paid any attention to any part of it prior to the comment I responded to.

Pšenda got a reaction from walt.farrell in Promote Group to Layer
Oh, thanks. I didn't think of that (or Google Translator didn't translate it correctly/accurately 🙂 This is also because Walt recently contributed to a thread, where this command was discussed, so I would assume he knew about it.

P. S. You may be interested in the requirement for a complementary "Promote Layer to Group" command in linked thread.

Pšenda reacted to JET_Affinity in Update dialog not intuitive
I would expect it to stop all auto-notifications of new versions. But I'm old enough to remember when software didn't ever automatically tell me there was an update or a newer version available because there was no internet by which it could exploit bandwidth that I pay for to phone home every freakin' time I launched it.
For example, I'm still using Illustrator CS6 because I won't rent software. I don't get any notifications about the availability of every piddling update to CC versions or downgrades to CC versions. And I sure don't miss 'em.
My newest motorcycle has a digital screen as its 'instrument cluster'. It doesn't throw up an alert whenever KTM introduces a new model.
Yet.
But I won't be surprised…

Pšenda got a reaction from walt.farrell in Broken file after Publisher-crash while saving
Yes, and that's why I put it here to make users aware that this is the standard way to navigate a page. Pages panel is more convenient and more illustrative, but again it takes up space.

Pšenda got a reaction from debraspicher in Locking layer contents
The existing way of locking the layer does not protect its contents from unwanted change.
It only provides protection before selecting from canvas area and moving contents (https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/53707-lockingunlocking-layers/&do=findComment&comment=271924).
But it would also be useful to ensure protecting the layer from unwanted contents modifications.
For example, as it is solved in Photoshop, with "Fully" and "Partialy" lock (https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/moving-stacking-locking-layers.html).
