Son of Shad got a reaction from UweJelting in Extremely disappointed that this installs as an "App" and not regular software program
I feel I must echo the sentiments of the OP.
I purchased the V2 suite thinking I would get a normal installer and I could choose which folder to install the software into.
I purchased direct from Serif because I don't like the windows store. If I did, I would have purchased from there and I would not be on here writing this complaint.
For the love of all that's holy, give us a normal installer please Serif.
Best,
Shad.

Setting the location within Settings > System > Storage > More / Advanced Storage Settings > Change where new content is saved did not stop the application being installed on my system drive, and the move option fails with an error 0x80073cf6
I am voting with my feet and will not purchase this software until you fix the issue - I do not want software telling me where it should reside.

I got one question: WHY?!
Why this is not just normal program but windows "app"? What are the benefits? Because I can clearly see downsides. I cant connect it to other apps for start, I dont have control over files...
This whole windows apps is just as good as Games for Windows Live and I hope it will share its fate.
I can only think about piracy - maybe that helps somehow to fight it, but I am not a pirate, I am legal user that cant use my favorite app like I did before. PLEASE go back to normal way of installing. This only took away functionality of your software and you cant seriously demand that 3rd party software developers of countless apps will fix that for us because you decided to make it a windows app.

thank you stokerg,
this may help for the moment. But in general, why did you guys change the common installing procedure.
Most users have had full control over their files and programs since windows Version 1.1 in the mid 80's. just because of Windows 10/11 there is no need to change the usual installation process. At least not in my eyes. .
I cannot choose a designated path to this new Affinity V2. Which is really a pitty.
Hope there are more customers complaining and you'll go back to the usual common way to install Applications. Hope this shot is not backfired.
Cheers U.ke
PS: found this in some other reactions: This is a stupid move by the developers. I own my PC, it is not a phone or a tablet and I want to control what goes on the PC and where it goes. I didn't spend time setting up partitions and drivers for fun. I have a particular drive for programs and that is where they go or they don't get installed - end of!

Hi Support,
I do not like the idea of this kind of software distribution. I was not able to
1. find a Desktop Icon after Installation,
2. I had NO control where the Applikation will be installed on my Volumes.
I am not amused 😞

Son of Shad reacted to Zero Zero in Extremely disappointed that this installs as an "App" and not regular software program
Just bought the Suite and could not find the installation files so was unable to create shortcuts and worse unable to find a way to run the software! The only way I could launch the software was to double-click on the downloaded installation files which gave me the option to Launch from there. Total irritation and confusion.
However in the meantime after much faffing about through the Forum I discovered to my dismay that these are "App" files and do not install into the Program folder of my C drive and do not appear in my Programs & Features... How do I uninstall them?
I absolutely hate this unexplained change to installing/removing software and am not happy with the way this has been implemented, particularly as no advanced notification (as far as I could tell) was given.
I very much like what Serif is doing with Affinity and love the software but cannot stand this insane change to the standard installation procedure.
Please Serif fix this unwanted installation mess asap. and please retain some independence from the dumbing-down that Micro$oft continually applies to Windows in the so-called attempt to make it better.
I sincerely hope you listen.

Version 2 is now uninstalled and I will never buy another Serif product until they fix this. The reason I went to Affinity suite in the first place was because Adobe ruined photoshop by their subscription/online nonsense.
