Too bad that would scare you off. Remember this is not Photoshop, we’re talking about Affinity tools, which are way more considerate on your resources.
And if you’re right and Gnome Boxes does not allow you to pass-through a GPU, then that means it was using my integrated graphics card, which worked perfectly fine in my case

I have to say that l like the way that they have worded it:
    "Compatible with Windows 7+
World Machine runs natively on a Windows PC.
(Mac/Linux users: No official support is available. However, we've heard good things using Parallels & WINE)"
In time, it would be nice to see similar wording also apply to Affinity Photo, etc in respect of Linux.

Unless things have changed recently, Gnome Boxes doesn't let you passthrough a GPU. I wouldn't use Photo or Designer in a VM that lacks that option.

No, you appear rude in every single post you’ve made in this thread. The others are right, you are just being toxic and hateful toward a request that people want and you clearly don’t want. When large companies like Valve and Nvidia are supporting Linux as a desktop and gaming platform, you can pretty easily see there is in fact a market for it.
I don’t even know why you’re still posting here, the only thing I can think of is you’re a Linux user that likes using a niche OS and don’t want it to get popular like some kind of hipster… or maybe you’re just a troll who never even touched Linux in the last decade. Either one is toxic.

It's possible that the unexplored potentialities of the GPL might scare away a few developers, though generally speaking, it's not much of a concern. Proprietary software isn't exactly rare on Linux, open sourced software and APIs are common on proprietary platforms, and lawsuits are pretty few and far between.
If we go by history, the only time the Software Freedom Conservancy goes after someone is when they directly alter GPLed code for their own use, and release it commercially without offering up said altered code for free download on request.

Commercial software on Linux doesn't risk running afoul of the GPL. So long as no one take any open sourced code licensed under such to use in their software, the two can pretty much exist side by side.

I have to ask this. Do you do anything other than malignant, toxic negativity? After all, you are not obliged or required by law to post in this thread.
To be fair, Corel does provide both .deb and .rpm files for AfterShot Pro 3. Go to the link below, click on the green Download Trial bar and the files will appear.
    https://www.aftershotpro.com/en/free-trials/
I have successfully used Alien in the past to convert between .deb/.rpm files and it worked just fine.
I have also used AfterShot Pro and I think it's a very good alternative to Adobe's perma-rental Lightroom. I should add that we have plenty of choice on Linux when it comes to RAW editing/cataloguing software including, but not limited to, LightZone, Darktable, RawTherapee, ART, etc.

Most people don't use windows because it's good, they use it because it's the default on most computers when they buy them and that is the only reason software developers develop for windows first. It has the marketshare because microsoft has the money to make it the default. Anything else is basically Apple.

This is *slowly* changing now as Razer, Dell, Minisforum and system76 sell computers with linux on, albeit very few (apart from system76 which is the apple of linux). I'm 100% on linux now as a 3D artist and you know what the #1 issue is? it's lack of a decent photo editor. It's not that linux is bad. it's not unfriendly to users, it's not a bad UX. Applications work fine on linux *when they're developed for linux* and thankfully a lot of the time even if it wasn't developed for linux it may still work (like world machine for example, no linux version yet runs perfectly on linux).

I think Valve are doing a great job also, they're going all in on gaming on linux and it's bringing more and more people to linux with the steamdeck. The thing linux needs the most is for people to just use it.

Anyways photopea is pretty decent on linux and it now has a flatpak (which is effectively a web app but still awesome)

Want proof to back up this claim? Well, we are arguing about OSes on the internet. It's pretty self evident.

While not ideal, these changes that temporarily break software or your workflow tend to happen everywhere, not only in Linux. Apple on MacOS broke a lot of perfectly good programs with their yet another shift to different architecture and not supporting OpenGL anymore.
And Microsoft slowly makes Windows a nightmare for any serious professional work. Sure, the programs are running on it fine but the OS is spying on you, forces you to update even if it breaks things and MS can change anything with the next coming update. You never know what is going to happen. This is in my opinion a horrible working environment. It is not your computer anymore. A lot of people deal with it only because of software compatibility, there is no alternative for certain software or games.
Linux is definitely not perfect (and I myself criticize a lot of things about it) but this issue with Wayland is hardly a typical "problem with Linux". This is a problem with almost every OS or technology at one point.
What surprises me a bit is the hostility from quite a few users against the Linux port. I get it, if you don't use Linux you don't want Serif "wasting" money on the development. But I still think Linux port would be beneficial even for you in the long run. Windows is probably on its way to become full-on Software-As-A-Service with all of the bad things that it brings. Lots of users are here because they got fed up with Adobe's SAAS model. When and if Windows becomes exactly that, what are you going to do? Wouldn't you be glad for an Affinity Linux port (already being developed and ready to go)?

If you're worried about things not working in Wayland, then just use Xorg. It's still a few years until Wayland becomes the exclusive standard, and any app that ends up not working on it probably won't have been updated for years by that point anyway.

I'm quite prepared to be told that I'm completely wrong, but, as I understand it, Android devices are mainly smart phones and tablets. I just wonder how many people are going to want to do serious page layout, photo editing or design work on such small devices? Surely people using these devices are more likely to want simple, one click solutions, rather than trying to use full blown apps like the Affinity trio. The important thing is not how many people use a particular device, or operating system, but how many of those people are likely to want to buy the apps!

It's something of an opposite situation for me. Everything I use runs just fine in Linux, either natively, or under WINE. The only exception to this are the Affinity programs, which I dearly miss, but can work around their absence fairly easily.
I continue to support the push for Serif to publish on Linux, because hey, I'd like to have my cake, and eat it too.

Most of the issues with Gnome were ironed out by 2015. Gnome 4 basically took that, and switched it from a vertical layout to a more standardized horizontal one.

Yeah, let's not let this devolve into some internet style platform war BS, huh?

Like I said, it works for me.
I don't recommend Linux to everyone. If your primary concerns are 2D graphic design, it'd be better to stick with Windows and Macs, yeah.
Considering I admitted to such just below, that's not much of a revelation. The Affinity programs are my one big exception.

To be honest, I think the least unrealistic option is the Affinity range, starting with Affinity Photo, working well with Wine/Crossover just like the venerable Adobe Photoshop CS2 does. I would quite happily settle for a solution like that.
