  1. Yes, v_kyr is right, I meant the *original* cat shape - the one cat shape to rule them all... I might make it show that Cat shape at random on Friday 13th
  2. Incidentally, the new cat shape is taken from one of the new sample documents by the brilliant Johan Keslassy called 'Staying Home' - I adjusted the tail a little so it fitted a unit square a little more fully and then popped it in, with permission of course!...
  3. Incidentally, has anyone got a document with the original cat shape in it? I thought that one was the nicest of all (it's the shape I used for the cat tool icon itself) @AlanPickup, yeah, one day maybe we'll grow up enough to use lion shapes But I think that as a team we'll still prefer cats 🐈, so maybe we could just introduce a slider on the shape to morph between cat and lion? 🦁
  4. I've GOT to keep checking this out - it's going to be AMAZING!
  5. Wowweee!!!! Awesome work! (And a great car!)
  6. Yes, I agree... I didn't spot this as I don't use the flyout myself, I just use the on-document UI and the colour panel...
  7. Hi guys, just as an update, there's nothing wrong with that colour! But I do agree it's a bit confusing as to why you're seeing what you're seeing! You've got a colour, which is correctly indicated in the colour panel, but what you've not got shown there is that you've chosen a '30% tint' of that colour (in the colour studio, select the hamburger menu at the top right and choose 'Tint' to show the control). When you change the colour to a new one, even the same value, it'll pop back to being the 100% tint version, hence the sudden change back to what you expected to see... I think we could do with showing it's a tint in the main colour chooser so that it makes this more obvious! Thanks, Matt
  8. There should be another RC beta being built any moment that I can hopefully release to you tomorrow that will resolve this problem
  9. It's simply because, if you used a preset of an iPad, for example, you could preview while you work at retina or standard pixels and then when you output at 1x or 2x you got the thing you were seeing while you were designing.

  12. We're talking about operations performed on documents with many objects. Physical document size has never really meant much in Designer until you start adding raster layers - and even then we should scale fairly well... Incidentally it's worth stating that in the future, we'll be able to scale to huge numbers of document objects much faster than we currently can... so don't fear

  15. Incidentally @Gear maker I think I've fixed the issue you mentioned with artefacts being left on the screen after resizing that object and dragging it around - so hopefully the next beta might tempt you back
  16. The problem is that those 'miscellaneous' items are usually things which the dev spots or nails down before they've even been brought to their attention as issues... If there's something like "Attempted to fix a long standing, widely reported problem" needs saying on the release list, it will most certainly be on the release list, so don't worry about missing it! I do agree that for testers it would be fantastic to have as much info as possible, but we have a very limited number of developers - who have very little spare time - it's not that it hasn't been thought of, it's more that it's hard to find the headspace and opportunity to log these things somewhere
  17. @Hokusai - I have managed to reproduce and fix the issue you clearly show - thank you! @Gear maker - I can't find a good reason for the behaviour you've experienced, but I think it's not unreasonable to assume that something was amiss at some point during the early betas and is hopefully resolved now. Please do let me know if you see anything further though
  18. I have to say this, unfortunately, that if something hasn't been explicitly stated as fixed, it's not reasonable to list it as still not fixed - because we haven't said we've fixed it yet. If everyone did this then we would have a number of pages full of things that aren't fixed yet. That's simply not helpful. The Divide operation has been fixed in a development branch, to the best of my knowledge, but this is currently unreleased. A fix is coming, but it is not appropriate to put it into this version at present as the potential for disruption is far too high at this stage. These long-standing issues are not ignored and they are not somehow classed as 'okay'... we simply haven't forgotten about them just because you see no obvious movement. As mentioned in the other forum post, Sean reiterated that the bug is logged and with development. Progress was being made and we're looking better with a comprehensive fix now, but it needs time and appropriate phases of development to launch this to the public. Many thanks for bearing with us, I know it's not easy looking in from the outside when there is only so much we can say :) Matt

  22. Yes, sorry about this - it's part of my overlay prior to a build and I always forget to apply it... I'll try to sort it out for the future...
