  1. Also, what version of iOS are you using? Thanks!
  2. When I saw this I thought "GREAT drawing! Can't believe that's vector!" but then I read a little more closely and noticed you did it on the iPad version... later I woke up and picked myself up off the floor ... how the heck did you do it! That's brilliant!
  3. I really like this - and the subtle way you've added connected transport systems is great!
  4. This beta has been superseded by the release of Affinity Designer for macOS 1.7.2 to the public. Check back on this forum for future betas. Status: Release candidate Purpose: Features, Improvements, Fixes Requirements: Purchased Affinity Designer Mac App Store: Not Submitted Download: Download link removed as 1.7.2 is now live Hello, We are pleased to announce the immediate availability of the first release candidate build of Affinity Designer 1.7.2 for macOS. If this is your first time using a customer beta of an Affinity app, it’s worth noting that the beta will install as a separate app - alongside your store version. They will not interfere with each other at all and you can continue to use the store version for critical work without worry. This beta is an incremental update to the 1.7.1 version recently released to all customers. We recommend that you use this beta in preference to the store version if you are affected by any of the issues listed below. Matt Changes Since 1.7.1 - Improved usability with Apple’s Sidecar for macOS Catalina and iPadOS 13. (This build is still not notarized, so requires user action to allow it to run) - Grid gutters reinstated. - ‘Edit all layers’ can now be used to allow/disable artboard object reparenting during translation drag/object creation. - Fix for bleed export options. - Fix for issues with constraints on children of constrained objects which are used as clips. - Fix for failure to load SVG colour 'none' causing import to stop. - Fix for pen tablet barrel rotation input turning the wrong way. - General performance improvements. - Text performance improvements. - Added ‘d’ default keystroke to restore objects to black and white colours. - PDF export improvements. - Added TGA export. - Different icon for beta builds. - Added a warning when deleting a global colour. - Fixed broken Japanese keyboard input (sorry!). - Fixed printing CMYK documents on older versions of macOS. - Fixed crash when reentering export dialog under certain conditions. - Fixed crashes when pasting screenshots into the app. - Fixed loss of legacy HSL adjustment HSV state after a save. - Assorted small fixes and improvements. - Help improvements. - Localisation improvements. - Import 16bit half float JPEG-XR files properly. - Improved LAB colour conversions. - Pantone palettes are now sorted alphabetically. - Fixed crash when starting app in a folder containing weird characters.
  5. I’ve hopefully just sent you the invite again
  6. Really nice work - and a nice video too!

  8. Do you not have a page chooser in the status bar at the bottom left?
  9. Hi mleops, would you be able to give us your system information (what Mac you’re using, processor, gpu, memory and OS version in particular) Thank you! Matt
  10. Thanks for letting me know! Metal compute will help in certain scenarios and with certain machines more than others... your MacBook Air unfortunately doesn't have the strongest on-board Intel GPU and there's no dedicated GPU, so actually trying to make things faster by pushing them onto the GPU turned out slower than just running them on the CPU. This isn't necessarily a failing of Metal, just that the interaction between CPU and the bits we perform on the GPU isn't going well on your particular machine. Leave the setting turned off and in the future maybe try enabling it again if we release an update that implements more Metal features or if you change to a different machine? Thanks again, Matt
  11. Hi linosia, Would you be able to try going to 'Preferences' and seeing if you have an option in the 'Performance' section that allows you to enable Metal compute acceleration? If so, could you make sure it is turned off? Would you be able to see if that makes things better after a restart? Thanks!!! Matt
  12. Sorry about this - its definitely always been like this though - but we have a plan that can make it all better - hopefully will implement that very soon!
  13. Hi damian - could you see if it is more stable if you turn off 'hardware compute' in the Preferences and restart the app? Thanks!
  14. Just to remind anyone asking 'how can this be RC1 when 'insert feature here' is still broken?!?' ... well, the reality is that the rest of the product is greatly improved and those specific things were also present in the last version - which was itself a released product - so it's not a blocker... it's admittedly not what we'd hope for, but as I said, the rest of the product it vastly improved and is very stable, so why would we not want to release at this point? It's not like we're now going to all give up or something, and it's also not like there isn't going to be a 1.7.1 version along shortly after release, so all these things will get sorted out along the road. They're a priority and I feel bad they're not right yet, but all things will be sorted in time...
  15. This beta has been superseded by the release of 1.7.1.1. Please use the release build instead. Status: Release Candidate Purpose: Features, Improvements, Fixes Requirements: Purchased Affinity Designer Mac App Store: Not submitted Download: Here Hello, We are pleased to announce the immediate availability of the beta of Affinity Designer 1.7 for macOS. Designer 1.7 is a significant change to the currently shipping 1.6 version. Files edited in this version will not be backwards-compatible with the shipping 1.6 version. We are now very happy with the 1.7 version and are moving to the final stages but would still urge some caution with respect to using this version for critical work as it is still possible we may have missed something that may cause you issues. If this is your first time using a customer beta of an Affinity app, it’s worth noting that the beta will install as a separate app - alongside your store version. They will not interfere with each other at all and you can continue to use the store version for critical work without worry. Many thanks, Matt Please refer to previous beta 1.7.0.4 post where there's a list of major changes since 1.6. This latest update builds on the 1.7.0.12 changes and also includes the following changes: New samples Selected text characters can now be dragged into a new position within a text object Fix for embedded documents and copy/paste issues (sorry) PDF export improvements (image colourspace conversion control) Fix for creating object styles which use multiple line/fill attributes Miscellaneous small fixes To be notified about all future macOS beta updates, please follow this notification thread To be notified when this Designer update comes out of beta and is fully released to all Affinity Designer on macOS customers, please follow this thread
  16. Hi Mike, I think it'll be something for next time - sorry
  17. It's an interesting question... and to be honest I'm not sure our argument for the current behaviour is any stronger than the argument for the notion that displaying the transform origin should imply that transforms should now be performed about it, so we'll certainly think about it.
