Hi Gunnar, I don't think that text in Freehand files is likely to be ready any time soon - there are so many other more important things that need to work properly first, that for most users it's not at the top of their list, unfortunately. It'll definitely get there one day, but it needs a lot of time looking at it - don't forget that we don't have any way of importing these files other than looking at the bits in the files we have and seeing if we can work out which bit means which thing, and when you're dealing with text there are a lot of properties and it's going to be difficult to get them all right... and even then, it'll be more work to make the text flow correctly considering we have a different text layout engine to the one Freehand used. Basically, it will get done, but it is by no means a small undertaking and the graphical import of Freehand content was far more widely requested so this is why it was completed more quickly.   5. Hi Askraba, Are you trying to use the Trial version? Your machine may be set to not allow software from anywhere except the App Store - look in System Preferences -> Security & Privacy. You need to select 'Allow apps downloaded from : Mac App Store and identified developers' and when you run the first time it will take a few moments to check the file and then ask you to confirm you want to run it.   6. From our crash reporter I can see that 84% of our crashes with this beta have been caused by front-end bugs concerning an optimisation we made with the context toolbar. Andy Tang has already identified the problem and is looking to resolve it asap, so hopefully a lot of the issues people are having will just magically disappear in the next beta update - hopefully later this week :)

  8. Thanks for that report Garytagreg - I've tried and tried and I can't get it to fall over on my machine... Do you, by any chance, have a MacBook Pro Retina with a discrete graphics card? If so, could you try checking or unchecking the option in Affinity Designer's Preferences to use only the integrated graphics card, and see if that affects things? Thanks! Matt

  11. Hi icuack, can you either share a .afdesign file showing the problem, or at the very least a screenshot in the program and the output that you're seeing? I'm sure we can answer this for you. Also, have you tried using the latest Beta version as one of our new features is that we now have our own EPS exporter which I would expect to work much better than our original released version's EPS export.   12. I still have a lot of work to do with both the Pencil and Vector Brush Tools - I'll be focusing on these soon so expect to see a lot of improvements, functionality-wise :)

  20. Hi ken_ The trial version only starts the trial when it is run for the first time and after that there's no way to reset it, sorry :( We had to make it fairly secure because there's no restrictions to the trial and an unlocked trial would just be equivalent to a full version. Thanks, Matt
