    Hi Ronnie, We call them 'stroke' brushes in the office... :) Also, yes, you will (one day) be able to just select some vector objects and drop them onto the brushes panel and they will become a vector brush... Thanks, Matt

    Hi Ronny, I've just checked this on my MacBook Pro (late 2013 model) and iMac (mid-2011 model) in both the current beta and MAS versions - they're both consuming about 0.3% of the CPU when just sitting there with your document open. I wonder if it happens for you straight away if you open the document again? I'm thinking that there is probably some process that wasn't successfully completing and that may have been causing one of your cores to be active. This is obviously not good, but we'd need to try to provoke it to happen again in order to find it... Any ideas what you may have been doing just prior to noticing the issue?     Wherever you've used pixels, you've used pixels - there's no getting away from that, but if you've clipped them to a vector outline, for example, then the pixels (should) be clipped against the vector outline producing a crisp, clean result. Like I said, show me a specific example and we could probably try to guide more, but there is no general way to have raster data which is scalable without introducing artefacts (because the extra data required has to come from somewhere) but that doesn't mean the effect on the screen can't still be pleasing and often trick you into thinking there are no pixels by clipping to a vector parent object. :)

    Your blue girl work is very impressive - looks very artistic and considered. I also like the pink girl is really well done - very bold and clean, but as you say, maybe in need of a few bits to finish the picture. These are amazing works for somebody who is starting out on their journey with the package - I'm really excited about seeing what you come up with next! :D

    Hi Jakerlund! :) You can temporarily hide the tool by holding space, but we do try to hide the tool automatically when we think it would be useful - like when you change the colour in the Colour panel. It seems that we haven't done this as often as I thought though because I would also expect it to hide the tool when I change the weight of the stroke in the Stroke panel and clearly it sounds like it should hide when you're adjusting an effect parameter too, sorry. We can definitely add this :) Thanks, Matt

    Hi Boban, I think I need to leave the 'editable text in PSD export' question to Ben for when he gets back off holiday as this is really his area of expertise... but I couldn't agree more about the need for a quick way to see the distances between objects!     No problem Gear maker, just go to the Gradient Tool (press 'g') and choose 'Stroke' from the 'context' on the context toolbar then just drag the handles with the mouse. If you want perfectly horizontal/vertical then use the Shift modifier to constrain it Hopefully that helps :) Matt

    The 'jaggies' you're seeing are simply from your fill - it is a conical fill that starts and ends on a different colour. If you simply change your gradient to start and end on the same colour, but then very shortly after transition to the different colour you were after then you will not see this effect, it will instead smoothly transition. It is the only part of any fill type which exhibits this artefact - and it is simply because it is not a certainty that you intended to make a sharp transition between two colours or a smooth one. Perhaps I should change it to automatically smooth the transition? Thanks, Matt

    Only the bits that require the raster elements will be raster, plus where possible your raster elements will be clipped to the bounds of some other vector shapes (if possible) to give crisp edges and resampled to reduce any effects caused by lack of resolution. In short, it's not as simple as yes or no, but the results will generally be very good - if you have specific examples, I can give more detail.

    Hi Trystero, Have you tried the beta version? It should read and write dpi to/from image formats correctly so your jpg should appear as intended. Also, you can scale something easily in the Transform panel by typing in "*=37%" in the box instead of the current width (for example) to scale. Is that what you mean? Thanks, Matt

    Hi steblina - I'm intending to greatly improve the functionality of the Pencil Tool in the future, so please accept my apologies for its current form - it will get much, much better as soon as I've got a little time free :)
