v_kyr got a reaction from Guidos in Photo and Designer still freezing / 1.10.6
If it freezes regulary afterwards it could be hardware acceleration related as Dan C already suggested to test out. Or some font caching issues.
It always depends on what operations is performed here on/with the text and also how things are internally implemented here then for the used objects memory allocation & deallocation. Meaning it's not everywhere (in all different apps) handled the same way.

AltGr-C = © and of course it's the default on Win, aka preconfigured and works right out of the box this way on DE/GER keyboards ...
The brackets remapping etc. I told of before, is instead custom made/setup for my personal quicker turn-around needs (I don't use AltGr-</7/0/ß/8/9... default mappings) for typing in prog code!

v_kyr got a reaction from DarkClown in Macro parameters not saved?!
No, it is usability wise.
IMO no as it lacks any better interoperation dynamics here, so to say pretty much the same as naming things extension wise the one "macro" and the other one "macros" here. All in all these macro capabilities are pretty limited and also suffer from any doc sizing related independent missing dynamics.
I doubt people are overall happy with that, but most have given up after several years passing through and seeing that either way nothing happens in this and other demanded regards. So, over time, you jage of it and accept the crap as it is, and instead live with those normally unnecessary workarounds.
Personally I stoped years ago using APh macros, as they don't offer what I would need and expected from those.

v_kyr got a reaction from Spookyzoo in How do I get the 2 dots resizing function for multiple Artboards?
If it's just for the second handle, the frame text can of course also be inserted as a pseudo one (aka an empty frame text) in order to get the wanted second resizing handle.

v_kyr got a reaction from j3rry in Macro parameters not saved?!
As the name "library" halfway implies, it's probably more a persistent made data collection (datastructure) of macro elements here, so a collection which holds various separate macros. And as far as the old macro element when altered isn't really dynamically exchanged/replaced in that persistent library collection (...aka the old macro removed and replaced by the edited/new macro instead), the collection (library) hasn't changed yet and will execute the old included one. - Thus old macros will probably have to be manually removed first from the library and then the newer reworked one explicitely to be inserted (saved) again.

v_kyr got a reaction from Hangman in Possible to create a click and fill grid?
Well there are also online SVG grid makers which use rectangles, so you can define/pick the grid style you like (rects in your case), define it's pattern and then copy the SVG code over (or save the generated SVG grid as a file for an import instead...) into ADe/APh etc.

Personally I hate that unprecise and very CPU & memory intensive "Color Replacement Brush Tool", which is crap IMO!

v_kyr reacted to Pšenda in can't horiz flip filled shape
This is a big shortcoming of the Layers panel concept. The only way to find out the use of the Transparency and Gradient Tool (as well as the change of Opacity, Blend mode and Blend Range) is to click through these tools/options for each layer in turn, if they are not set by chance. And imagine opening this document in APhoto (for example via Edit In...), which doesn't even have a Transparency Tool, so you'll never come find this problem and even fix it.
However, it still looks like a "bug", because the rotation/flip of the layer with the applied Transparency tool should not have such an effect.

v_kyr got a reaction from EmmaW in Matte Color Macro
For certain photos like street, casual wear, but also sometimes for portraits, I tend to use matte color effects if those shots have to underline some more urban style. It is an easy task to apply some matte color effect to your shots, though if you need it quite often a reusable macro is the way to go for this. - Here is one adjustable matte color macro for Affinity Photo, which you can reuse for such matte effects for either color or b&w images.
BEFORE
AFTER
LAYERS
This macro creates three layers for you with corresponding layer masks:
A curves adjustment layer which applies the main matte coloring to the image, which lowers contrast and flattens blacks. You can use the mask (draw with a
white/black brush) to exclude/include specific areas from the matte color. For example you could exclude in portraits the eyes from being matte here etc. A contrast boosting layer which allows to give back a little bit of the contrast lost by the matte color effect. This is as default a copy of the matte layer with an
applied soft light blending mode and half lowered opacity. Again you can use the mask to remove or reapply certain image areas here. Finally a desaturation layer which can be used to lower the saturation of possibly still too bright colors. You can use the mask here too in the same intended
way as before mentioned for the other layers.

v_kyr got a reaction from People_Word in How would I go about creating this halftone/over spray look in Affinity Photo?
Welcome!
First I would look after some possible available halftone & extruded fonts, so if there maybe is already something similar to reuse here right out of the box. Though there are a lot of such different fonts on the net, where some may work others not and so it would be a matter of finding the right fitting one here. - Aka maybe something similar like ...
Leave no fingerprints ... etc. Other than that you have to look after some web tutorial for PS to adapt to APh on how to create such text effect and get close to it ...
How to Create Blur Halftone Text Effect (Photoshop Tutorial) How to Create Dotted Text Effect (Affinity Photo Tutorial) ... etc.

v_kyr reacted to MmmMaarten in I've animated a drawing I made 40 years ago, when I was six :)
Hi Folks,
I had some fun time animating a drawing I made when I was 40 years ago, when I was six years old. Animation was done in Moho Pro, but I happily used Affinity Photo for making all the cutouts and doing some stamping and tricks to make it work. And of course the great export persona (I might have used Affinity Designer for that tho, as flexible as the Affinity ecosystem is in just opening the same file with another Affinity app!)!
Hope you like it!
