v_kyr got a reaction from Sheriff95 in Affinity Designer 2 hexagons on top with the outline
    Welcome!
There are several different possible ways to do that.
Don't apply any fill style, so use just two stroked hexagones. You can also add the overlapping part, aka the intersection of both, as a third one on top then. Select both and perform dsitribute, you will get three parts. Group them together. And so on ... Hexagon_methods.afdesign

Here are two of my Badge (Label) Assets sets, these assets are plain (silhouettes) + vintage (grouped) vector curve(s) based badges/labels. The two sets do contain various forms of these. NOTE that the assets for the below shown vintage badge set don't include any preapplied text, it's below just shown this with text way in order to give you an idea how they could look with some used/applied text on them!

    The corresponding assets files:

v_kyr got a reaction from R C-R in How to add your own custom shape in Affinity Photo?
That's pretty trivial to do and handle either way via reusable vector assets via the Affinity assets panel!

And related to Photoshop custom shape (csh) files, you can convert those to SVG and then reuse the SVGs in Affinity via making your own asset sets with the Affinity assets panel if needed.

Like your latest made tutorials! - Just one hint, also tell something about the expected resulting color behavior when using certain tools. Further it also might be helpful for people to always know, if certain tool usages will keep plain vectors on exports, or are instead yield to rasterization then.

Falls ja (mittig zentriert), da hatte mal jemand ähnliche Anforderungen und ich hatte für so etwas mal ein Python script gezeigt was so etwas bulk mässig machen kann ...

I doubt that, as the OP want's a solution which autdetects the longer side (w or h) of an image and then squares it accordingly to the longer side value. And the images can initially have different sizes and orientations here. At the end the whole should be saved as an 2k x 2k px PNG.

An update on installing the free Google Nik Collection on "unsupported" systems like MacOS Ventura on a brand new MacBook Air M2 15" (yay!).
While the original installer application will refuse to proceed with installation – babbling something about "requires Mac OS X 10.7 or later" (duh!) – you can still use the Niks if you already had a working installation on your old Mac:
copy the following folders/files to the same respective locations on the new Mac:
/Applications/path_to_you_nik_apps_folder (I have renamed mine so I don't remember its original folder name)
optionally the Nik PS plugins folder if it was stored elsewhere (mine was in the apps folder since I can't run PS CS5.5 on Catalina, obviously)
    /Library/Preferences/Google (folder)
    /Library/Preferences/Nik Collection.plist
/Users/your_user_name/Library/Preferences/Google (folder) check all the standalone Nik apps first if they work (they should) quit APh Get Info in Finder on the APh app check "Open using Rosetta" launch APh (may take quite some time the first time) do the usual known procedure to enable 3rd party plugins for APh don't forget to select the layer you want to apply the plugin on, otherwise the plugins will be grayed out… Works for me.
Since I don't use the Nik plugins very often, I'll be runing APh natively, only switching it to Rosetta mode if I'd actually need one of the plugins – which is usually only the Analog Efex.

All of the above methods to place/add an asset still need a manual/custom size adjustments. - Though the double click placement might be the best here, in order to quickly adjust an asset to a desired size. Where the Ctrl/Cmd-Drag, which then in contrast gives a preview of an assets initial size and look here during a drag operation, can't be abandoned during that dragging state, in order to get just a preview without applying the drag.
The Assets Panel itself might be missing some sort of zoomed preview functionality here for a selected asset, in order to get a bigger quick look of an asset before dragging/placing it into the document. - Actually one always has to place/drag and remove it afterwards, if it is probably not one with the wanted look.

I know what you mean, but that's overall too complicated and unnecessary to show up a warning message in a panel and asking after using UTF-8 instead etc. - It's much easier for them to fix it by adding into their SVG parser the recognition of "UTF-8 | ascii" tokens and that's all about it. It's usually much easier & quicker to do!

v_kyr got a reaction from eBookNoir in Workarounds for Exporting from Affinity Publisher to ePub Format?
Well there aren't many workaround possibilities here, either you try out via PDF capable ebook creation tools (like Calibre), or you use copy/paste for texts and other contents etc. between Apub and some ebook authoring/creation tools (like Apple's macOS iBooks Author, Pages ... etc.).
Due to it's overall limitations in this area, I don't think Apub is the right tool yet for ePub creations and thus I would personally use other more predestined tools for such/those tasks.
