v_kyr got a reaction from deeds in Performance M2 Max isn't good enough
If those don't have any impact on every other app too, then the problem shouldn't be related to those third-party apps at all here. - For example I use Little Snitch too, though on an Intel based Mac and older OSX, and there are no conflicting problems at all with the Affinity or other apps here.
I think there is little you can do from your side here, instead Serif has to adapt and optimize it's apps in a much more better manner to the latest silicon based Apple eco-systems (hardware + OS versions) here. The later said includes flawless Metal support and optimized (bug free) memory management too.
All in all V2 apps have sadly decreased in their stability and instead introduced a bunch of more additional new bugs. Serif overall has to do some better software quality management here.

    Yes both are essientiell here.
Serif isn't exactly covering itself in glory here, the way they're currently handling hardware-accelerated graphics frameworks (OpenCL and Metal). There are still far too many problems in the way they are using these APIs.
Good memory management is the be-all and end-all of any complex application, which in turn affects its performance and stability. Undetected memory leaks are a common evil here, which in turn has often a huge impact on the latter (performance and stability).

You could try opening the doors to the ambulance and then placing Georgie and his mother inside the ambulance
PS It had stopped raining whilst I was doing this, hence the lack of rain at the moment.

The shadow looks fine but I'm not sure what you mean by... "and how far to stretch the lighting on the driveway."
Though, you might want to consider adding some lights to the house. It looks a bit strange having an ambulance in the driveway but no one at home in the house.

Just to confirm, the above is logged with our developers as a requested improvement to allow users the choice to disable the <rect> object being created for exported Artboard documents - I'll be sure to add a 'vote' to this for you now @debraspicher. Apologies for any inconveniences due to this in the meantime!

You are again obviously overstressing/overcomplicating the whole theme, the easiest is to place it top or bottom and afterwards to finetune if needed. As most people either way don't remember after one or two days how many items some container does contain for complex drawings.
Download & install Inkscape, feed it with some complex drawing and give it a try, then you know!

Personally I would do that either way in order to have overall more flexibility for custom needs here. I also would make myself some own reusable callout assets, for such stuff I personally mostly have a need for.

You can always open directly SVG/PDF etc. files via "File->Open" as/in their own docs. And from there you can select the wanted layers and copy/paste them over into other already opened ADe docs. -- Cutting out the ear from the triangle should then be easy too ...

Well you badly didn't told which OS you're using and also for which Affinity app you've tried the whole (?). Thus people have laborious to guess here from interpreting your signature (my guess is macOS). And if it's macOS then the Mac Unicode HeX-Input has to be enabled first, otherwise things obviously won't work the usual keyboard way.

I don't see any G|Z, however there are many ways to do that, as reusing some fitting font or redrawing/tracing that manually yourself.
Another way is autotracing the whole with some good tracing/vectorization tool, which will give you some curves for that then, which you can alter/modify if needed afterwards ...

If you want to create such two colored right angel joins or the like use adjustable Trapezoid shapes instead of plain rectangles.

v_kyr got a reaction from ScarletQueen in How to join two lines at the top that are different colors
With just thick line strokes that's difficult to setup, even with one continious pen line and an applied 4 points gradient it's not that precise to setup...

... thus I personally would probably use filled rectangles/trapezes grouped together instead ...

Performance wise it will be for sure faster, though in your case I would still wait until end of next month, as there are some rumours that in September maybe a new Mac Mini M3 based one might be announced. It would be annoying to buy now a M2 one when the M3 based one is just around the corner one month later.

Of course, learn and take a look at the options the different ADe tools do offer you here!
Use Shift-Click with the Pen Tool to draw straight lines, also always take a look at the bottom status bar for selected tools, which tells you possible shortcut usage options.
Further you may want to make use of a setup Grid, Rulers and Snapping options, in order to adjust and place things more accurate here.

Of course Designer is the best one suited therefor. Though due to the lack of embedding measurements directly into drawings, I would use now and yet the free LibreDraw instead, or some free CAD app which should be even better suited for such tasks (...as far as absolute most precise units of measurement are required).

v_kyr got a reaction from Sheriff95 in Affinity Designer 2 hexagons on top with the outline
    Welcome!
There are several different possible ways to do that.
Don't apply any fill style, so use just two stroked hexagones. You can also add the overlapping part, aka the intersection of both, as a third one on top then. Select both and perform dsitribute, you will get three parts. Group them together. And so on ... Hexagon_methods.afdesign
