v_kyr got a reaction from SrPx in Affinity + AI= New Creative Era
Well there actually isn't much intelligence in artificial intelligence, instead it's more like finding matches and similarities in huge data nets. The whole is somehow currently massively overvalued (sort of hype syndrome or being en vogue, due to cloud computing and co.) - Cut the internet connection and ask Siri/Alexa/Cortana (or any other artificial girl ) something grandiloquent...

See the UI dark or light appearance, aka UI style setting under the preferences.
    See:

Add arrow head to the line in Affinity Designer
Google search after: affinity designer arrow heads
No the Affinity trial versions have/offer the same features as the bought one versions here, just their overall operation is time limited to 10 days or so from the first start up on.

v_kyr got a reaction from Patrick Connor in Brand new Baby, off Topic question?
Ok since Patrick says it's Christmas!
That Lidl Silvercrest tablet is made by Aiptek (probably model 14000u), so Aiptek drivers should work for that one, though they look to be older ones.

v_kyr got a reaction from Alfred in Brand new Baby, off Topic question?
That Targa is just a holding for Lidl, IMO they don't produce that hardware themself and instead just do relabel those things. Similar like Medion and Aldi etc. - Aiptek instead distributes graphic tablets etc.

Let's add the free LibreOffice Draw & Writer software here, that offers and can do a lot with text, diagramming & arrows etc. and even 3D objects here, which AD actually doesn't. - The LibreOffice suite offers the Fontwork tool here for such purposes ...
    Fontwork-Part 1
Fontwork-Part 2 (this one is more interesting for warping)
    Text With Connectors
... LO Draw can also export to various vector/bitmap formats which then can be imported into AD for reusing.

v_kyr got a reaction from firstdefence in How to edit text from PSD files On Affinity Designer
Well if no pixel based styled text is used in the imported/opened PSD file then it should usually be editable in AD. Might give sometimes mismatch if a PSD uses fonts you don't have installed. However ...

Something I always can do easily on Win with Xara (Magix Graphic Designer) or even the pretty old and outdated MS Expression Design.

You can try to open/import the PDF and see if it is maybe different structured there or easier to access certain elements. - Other than that, you can try to select portions of an element from the layers panel and then group/copy them over to isolate certain objects into a new AD related document.

Well there are several ways to do this with shapes. If you want to have a 8 separated pieces look of that try a gear with 8 teeth, gapsize 64% ... etc.

First take a look if your Canon cam model and lenses are actually supported for the AP 1.6.x versions ...
    ->  Supported Raw Cameras (1.6.x)
->  Supported Lenses for SerifLabs RAW engine (1.6.x)
... if not check the AP 1.7.x beta which will probably have added support for some additional cameras and lenses since the used RAW and lense libraries have been actualized accordingly there. As said by HVDB Photography use and try out the Canon .CR2 RAW format if you have the choice for setup among different RAW formats for your Canon cam there. Other than that, the TIFF image format is also pretty usable as an exchange format between different photo and imaging software, in case AP really doesn't support your cam's RAW format yet.

v_kyr got a reaction from Komatös in Reusing filmstrips as photo borders
Here are some 35mm and 4x5 filmstrip templates which can be easily reused in AD/AP as photo borders, or for other sort of image presentations etc. - Each of these templates does contain always two (in past times) popular analog film brand looks, so you can switch between them through enabling/disabling layers, or modify/add your own additional ones. There is always also an indicated image place section, where you can mount your photos in.
