  1. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only method for creating non-destructive boolean operations is by holding alt/option while pressing the icon from the toolbar. I tried holding alt/option and selecting the boolean operation via the "right-click" menu, but the result is destructive/permanent. Any possibility of adding the alt/option non-destructive trick to the "right-click" menu and/or support for keyboard shortcuts? My "Toolbar" is hidden, so currently there's no way to do this. Just a thought
  2. Not sure if this was intended, but If I change the "Tool Handle Size" preference to small, the handle remains the default size for slices in Export Persona. This also happens with the "Patch Tool" bounding-box and a few others, including the handles in "Lighting Filter" mode. For the sake of consistency, maybe they should all be the same size… Probably not super important, but something I noticed and wanted to mention.
  3. @Dave sounds great, thanks! One other thing about the caret is the height. Currently, the height of the caret extends far beyond the top of the text bounding-box, especially with the artistic text tool. How about having it cut off/stop at the top? And, out of curiosity is the new caret basically half black, half white — each one pixel wide? cheers
  4. Agree with @Matthias. What's the point of "Reseting Selection Box" if it reverts when the object is de-selected -- should be permanent.
  5. It took me a while to figure out that after invoking quick mask (Q) that the brush tool needs to be active. I thought it was broken until I realized the brush tool has to be selected. Maybe it would be better if the brush tool automatically activates when the quick mask is invoked…
  6. Additionally, the caret (which is black) has a slice of white on the right side. Assuming this is for when text is on a dark background so the caret is still visible—maybe not—but in any case it feels very clunky. Perhaps the entire caret inverses color in that case, eliminating the need for the thicker / two-colored caret, as it is now.
  7. @MEB I was referring to AP and AD, but as you mentioned, AD's layer color behavior does not apply to AP — so the default blue "bounding box" in AP can't be changed. Regardless, it would be useful to have a preference to set the default color (pretty sure adobe has this) OR de-saturate the blue with the rest of the UI elements when "Monocromatic" is enabled. Just my 2cents
  8. Agree. This could be achieved by AD remembering on application quit/launch if canvas clipping is enabled — something to do with the plist I presume. If this were the case, a seperate preference in the "Preference Panel" wouldn't even be required.
  9. Curious as to why there isn't a "Decimal Place for Unit Type" preference for the rotate and shear transform degrees? Currently, they each display one decimal value — but would be great if we could round the degree values to whole numbers, like the other unit types allow. Any future plans for this?
  10. YES -- The canvas background "dark gray" should remain the same with artboards too.
  11. The blinking "caret/cursor" while editing text is quite thick ( 3 or 4px ) compared to the default OS X caret, which is usually about 1px thick. This makes editing large bodies of text, especially smaller-sized, very cumbersome and difficult at times. Perhaps a "standard" thickness for the caret/cursor could be implemented in future versions of Designer/Photo?
  12. I have a suggestion regarding the "bounding-box" selection, which is blue by default. If the "Monochromatic Iconography" preference is enabled, then the "bounding-box" should also follow this rule and appear grayish instead of blue—OR another option could be a preference to change the default color. thoughts? Cheers!
  13. Hello! I think it would be nice to disable or completely remove the Affinity "Splash Image" that appears while the application launches. IMHO it serves zero purpose and makes the launch time appear even slower. And in most cases it only flashes for a second or two. Aside from Adobe, I can't think of a single Mac application that does this. Any thoughts? Cheers
  14. Adding further to MEB's Arrow Highlighting suggestion… 1. Keep the un-selected layer arrow gray, as in version 1.3.5 2. Change the arrow to white for selected layers 3. Use white triangle + circle with the system highlight color, if inside layer hierarchy This preserves the simplicity of the arrow while still being highly visible. Example attached
  15. I think AD and AP need an option to disable Sub-Pixel anti-aliasing for text. Sub-Pixel is the default font rendering mechanism for OS X, but not for IOS devices, as it's not supported. Also, having the option to disable Sub-Pixel anti-aliasing allows for accurate text rendering when using the font-smoothing CSS property. Thoughts?
  16. Hello! Is there a way to scale or move the clipped content behind a mask without scaling or moving the mask itself? For example, in PhotoShop, you can "unlink" the mask, preserving the mask shape and allowing the clipped content to scale independently or move around behind the mask. In AP I have to keep "releasing" the mask every time I want to adjust the size or placement of the clipped content. Any ideas?
  17. Adding to this… the file format icons have an "outer glow", causing them to appear blurry / out of focus. Perhaps this can be fixed so they look crisp.
  18. Hello. Is there a method for adding a new layer below, instead of above the selected? For example, Option + Click to insert the layer below, or something similar. Thanks
  19. @MBd agree that a Persona would be a bit too much. However, a "Mode" option called Match Beneath could be added to the existing Perspective Tool. Essentially, this would allow users to draw the perspective grid and match the selected layer to the imediate layer beneath it. For example, Layer 1 is a photo of an angled wall and Layer 2 is an image of a clock. With Layer 2 selected, you draw the perspective grid to match the angle of Layer 1 and select the option to "Match Beneath". The content of Layer 2 will then map to the perspective beneath it. Also, and option to do this "non-destructively" would useful.
  20. The Vanishing Point Filter in PhotoShop makes it very easy to accurately map objects to perspective. Perhaps a new "Mode" option in the existing Perspective Tool can be added to mimic the behavior. OR for a more comprehensive approach, a Vanishing Point persona can be added, allowing greater control and precision. Either way, this would be a great addition. Any thoughts?
  21. The Node Tool should have the same keyboard shortcut in Designer and Photo. Currently, Designer is [A] and Photo is [P]. The same could be said for few other tools as well. Best to keep them consistent to minimize confusion and strengthen muscle memory.
  22. Agree with @Lojza. Also is there a way to prevent rasterizing when use the perspective filter?
  23. The Pen Tool is quite handy for making selections, but as far as i'm aware, the only way to activate the selection is from the Selection button in the top/left of the context-bar menu. Perhaps adding a "Create Selection" item in the right-click menu could simplify the process. By the way, is there a keyboard shortcut for this too?
