YES please ....
For people (like me) who wear glasses, this can indeed be a handicap. For example, I myself wear glasses with a built-in prism and +11 diopter, and am obliged to increase the scale and layout of my screen to 125% in order to work comfortably.
But if I record my videos with that setting (125%), a lot of shortcuts no longer function !!
So I first have to reset my screen settings to 100% scale, which is very annoying and tiring.

For what it's worth, I have bumped an improvement request that we have logged with the developers. Thanks for your feedback.

Thanks Serif for your brilliant AP software version 1.7.
Would it be possible to offer  an Extra Large  Font UI size option for the many of us who don't have the best of eyesight.
 MY experience on my 5K iMAC monitor  is that the UI fonts with  the  two options of default and large font are still too small to read comfortably and I need to get very close to the monitor to read the  menu text.  Extra large Font UI would help greatly.

That's the answer to your question ..
Select the mask layer and lower the opacity (available on top of the layers panel) !!!

It looks like you have white selected in the colour panel not black
Also always expand the layer in the layers panel to make sure you have just the mask layer selected and not the layer and the mask layer selected

That icon is for "group layers" > you need at least one layer active
Layer > New Group will create an empty group ...

I also think that, the Burn tool a revision is needed.

As you might expect, Photoshop does the best job followed by Gimp.
The bottom line is unfortunately Affinity Photo
The test is done with similar setting of the Burn tool.

I agree.

I experience the same problem.
The development time has been doubled compared to the beta version !! Almost 3 minutes !!

To get rid of the transparency :  Document > Clip Canvas
"according to the selected color" : Do you mean a colored border ? If so, delete the selection and  then Clip Canvas

Add a new pixel layer
fill it with 50% gray (you can use a shortcut i.e.  Miscelaneous > Set fill to 50% gray)
set the blend mode to overlay
In the context toolbar, choose a tonal range
..
and start doging or burning ..
or
create that layer on the fly using my attached macro

Hi @lugi, you have a couple of options:
1) Use the bilateral filter, it will produce similar results to what you were used to seeing with the Denoise filter.
2) If you open a document with Denoise saved in 1.6, and double click the filter in 1.7, the old dialog will be displayed.
We recommend option (1) for your use-case.

Don't think so, or you could roll back to the 1.6 version.

This was caused by a bug that was identified very early on in the beta. Unfortunately the bug had slipped through the net and the developers are already working on a fix. This means that anyone already affected who hasn't exported their shortcuts will not be able to restore what has been lost.
I cannot apologise enough and I realise this should be an exciting time for everyone to upgrade
