Yes, it's complicated and confusing. I see that in your 2nd example the DPI switched to 72 DPI ... And it becomes more complicated when changing units and / or DPI And as you mentioned, if needed resampling will be applied.

AFAIK, this is not available in Photo Persona .. But, if it's a JPEG file, you can't get anything from blown out regions. These areas appear as pure white in the image. If you use Levels, they will only become grayish

You cannot export presets at this time. All presets are stored globally in the file: % AppData%\Affinity\Photo\1.0\ user\develop.propcol So if you backup that file you're save.

In this case you must first flatten the image = Document > Flatten
