  1. The 10 day trial period isn't very long.

Assuming that a designer/illustrator/whatever has things they need to do during the day - the things they have to do to make money - and may only have a couple of hours every now and again to experiment with new software it doesn't leave them much time to get to know something new. For example, if someone only has free time on a weekend then they only have a maximum of four days - depending on when they activate the trial - in which to try things out (and they probably won't have the full four days to do so).

Could the trial be limited by up-time rather than a flat number of days? Giving people, for example, 40 hours of actually using the product - spread over whatever time period the user has available - would allow people to properly delve into such a feature-rich application as AD.

    It's just a thought.

Your option would be convenient. Out of 10 days, I spent 15 minutes trying. When the version reappeared, the trial was complete.
  2. Trial versions expire ten days after the first time you run them, so you need to make sure that you don't run the program for the first time unless you know that you will be able to devote enough time to testing it during the following ten days.

The trial version will probably be reset after version 1.6 is released (so that potential purchasers can try out the new features).

Let's wait. In the meantime, I'll be studying inkscape.
  3. This isn't likely to ever happen for a couple of reasons.  Making an app portable like that simply means it's very easy to copy to whomever without them paying for it.  Also, when you connect a drive to a computer, you may find that it assigns that drive a letter or volume inconsistent from the path the file was saved to or open from before, potentially causing problems.

Those who pay, they will continue to pay. The rest on the torrents download the version they need, and put it without difficulty despite all the protections. This is a problem with which you should not fight. Or rather it makes no sense. Problem

Now AP starts and works directly from a flash drive and it's very convenient. Perhaps not all functions will work as expected, but overall it's nice that the program is launched.

    Hi m850,

It's preferred if apps on Windows are installed to the correct/default location on Windows. Apps can be installed onto other internal hdds during the installation by changing the install path. But external ones can be tricky as you first need to have them plugged in before the system boots. On macOS you should be able to run the app from an external drive.

I need the program to work on any PC with windows. As a portable version. What would I be able to learn in my spare time, regardless of whether I am at home or at work. I want to have an instrument with me.

  5. Hi m850,

Issue 1 and 3 are definitely known about and reported to development. I also think 2 is as well but I shall double check. With regards to number 4 I don't believe this is so I shall get it reported. Lastly regarding the brushes dialog, I don't believe this is know so shall get that reported as well!

Thanks again for letting us know!

Glad to the appearance of such a product as AP. If my reports help to make the product better, I will be happy!
  6. Hi m850,

    Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

Currently there's no way to perform transformations using a reference point, only rotations as you found out.

This is something that was requested quite a few times already and may appear in a future update/version.

    Thank you!

Then can I ask you one more question?

In the development mode, equal, the eraser erases the brush but does not affect the gradients. Is there any plan to do so that you can edit the gradients?
