True. You can ask for an improvement. As I mentioned above, this problem is not new with the beta. Therefore, the correct place (in my opinion) to post an improvement request for it is Suggestions for the Affinity Suite of Products. You could do that, or possibly a moderator will move this topic.
Formally, the fact that the program does not distinguish the launch by the standard means of the operating system (Hot Keys is the same full-fledged tool as launching via a shortcut) from launching with the parameter is an error. Perhaps there are restrictions on the part of the operating system or programming language, but I do not have such information. The error is present in the stable and beta version. I understand that a new release is currently being formed, and if developers can solve the problem, then it will be good.
Request a function? Which one? What would the program run correctly from the shortcut and hotkeys. So this should be the default. -

You can rewrite the program. You can update the firmware to the user. There is no forum where you can write about the request to add a feature to the user's firmware. But the forum on AP exists Other users may also come across this problem / feature. I think that is not a very large percentage, but even so.

Or for the Affinity apps just assign shortcut keys that don't use the CTRL key
In Windows, hotkeys for any contain Ctrl + Alt. Do not get to exclude keys.

It's not new with the beta, as it can happen with 1.6, too.
@Ron P.: If you hold the Ctrl part of the shortcut key down long enough, it probably will. At least, it will for me in that situation. But normally I would just press the key combination and then release it, and then the reset does not happen.
Right. With a very quick key press combination, the launch runs in normal mode.
Is it possible to teach the program to understand (ignore the pressed key) when the program starts with hot keys.

I also use DxO with AP. Very good kit.

AP curves are among the most advanced graphics programs on the market. But there is one huge flaw. A function that is literally in all programs is missing in the AP
There is no vertical line that shows the position of the point relative to the histogram.
At the same time, this level has no problem.
I would like to see the same option in the old AP.
Perhaps it was worth putting in the function request. But the absence of this line makes it impossible to work with curves, as with a professional tool. You have to guess whether you hit the top of the histogram or not. I'd like to see AP at or above its competitors.

We often see brush sets that are conveniently grouped by style. Presets are grouped by style. Why not group fonts which hundreds?
I want to be able to create and save font sets. for example
1. Favorite fonts
2. Latin fonts
3. Cyrillic fonts
4. OFL licensed fonts
and so on.
This would speed up and simplify the work. -

Hi Max N,
I can't quite get this with a document from scratch. Would you mind attaching the file for me?
Here is a file with saved history. 123.afphoto

Hi all,
Sorry for the delayed reply.
I could not replicate this either.
Does that happen if you create a new document with the right profile, close Photo/Designer and try again?
Have you tried to reset the app?
Thanks,
Gabe.
Most often this happens during the launch of the program and the creation of a new document. The documents created during the session will be correct (I could be wrong, but it seems that this is so). Sometimes at the start of the program, the profile is correct. Reset the program did not try to do. The other day I reinstalled the system, see if the problem will repeat.

Could you try uninstall and reinstall of the drivers to see if that fixes it?
Reinstalling the system solved the problem. It is difficult to say what caused the problem. But without the driver, everything worked, with the AP and PS driver started with an error. AP (stable version) crashed with an error report. AP (betta) crashed without an error report. -

I'll have to look at #3 separately I think. Build 271 will have #1 and #2 saved.
# 1 # 2 - this will greatly facilitate the process. :-) I would like the tools to remember the settings so as not to reconfigure them in each new document.

Hi @Max N, thanks for this. I've just added saving of settings to this tool, it'll be available in the next Windows beta :-)
Hooray! All the settings will be remembered? Even the lack of color on the brush?

I agree. This is not a software error. This is a function that forces the user to perform the same operation thousands of times in a row, thereby taking time from him. Formally, this is not a mistake, but the workflow is very slow. When migrating from PS to AP, this may repel new users. Yes, and the old makes periodically return to PS. I want PS to forget as a terrible dream, but for now it does not work.

Removed the driver, reinstalled. Put new versions. Did not help. Now I reinstall the system, I will look at how it will work on a clean system.

At the same time, PS also closes at startup with an error

I want to share statistics. Mix brush does not save all settings. I understand that it is probably conceived. I will share my statistics.
One setting brush = 15 seconds time.
During the day, this setup has to be done 100 or more times.
15 * 100 = 1500 seconds = 25 minutes per day to adjust the brush.
In a month, 25 * 31 = 775 minutes = 13 hours.
13 hours a month to spend on custom brush? This is more than a working day! For a professional tool, such a waste of user time is unacceptable. Please add save all instrument settings.
The video is old, but the problem is relevant for all versions.

Hi Max N,
Can you please attach that afphoto file? I can't get this anywhere near as bad as what I'm seeing in your recording. I want to ensure this is being looked at. Thanks!
Here is a document with stories.
The names of corrective layers.

The name of the adjustment layer is not equal to the name in the selection menu.
Curves = Curves Adjusment
Unnecessary words complicate perception and slow down the search in large documents.
Curves = Сurves - This option is visually more pleasant. We immediately see what this layer is. Well, for those with PS moves less repulsive moments.
If for the English language this is not very critical (although this still overloads the interface).
The most important words are at the beginning, and they are immediately visible.
In the Russian version everything is much sadder. The most important word is in the middle of a sentence. And it is still necessary to search.
The short title option would be the most usable. A document with a huge number of layers overloaded with unnecessary words, which in fact do not carry important information. It looks frightening and repulsive, especially for new users whose loyalty to the program at the start is minimal.
Curves=Curves
Кривые=Кривые
Insignificant detail at first glance, but having a lot of weight for new users. Well, in general, make work in the AP more convenient
