Hi, I have tried to search for this but I haven't been able to find the answer so I'm asking here: How do I do a box shadow on a shape that only appears on some of its sides? E.g. on a rectangle, I want the shadow to be only on the right and bottom sides. I have played with the Outer shadow in Effects but I can't seem to figure it out. I need the shadow to be soft, blurry, not very hard. Thank you.

Hi, sorry for the title, let me explain what I mean. I'm using AD for website mockup. I created the low fidelity wireframe and I'm now I'm trying to use some real images to create a high fidelity mockup. The image is larger than the element it will be contained in, but when I try to scale it down, it scales down proportionally (not filling the whole space). If I make it fit the element, it is distorted (stretched out). What I need is to be able to only show a part of the image (no need for the whole image to be shown), basically position it behind the element and choose what part of the image will be visible. How do I do that? I'm sure it is something simple but I just can't figure it out. Thank you.

Sorry for the late reply. No, I don't have a registry cleaner. I really don't know why it's doing that but it's not such a big problem, just an annoyance :)

Thank you, Alfred and R C-R. Yes, for some reason, my settings go back to default every time I start AD. I don't know why, I thought I was missing something, after all, I've only had AD for few days.

I can change my keyboard (I'm on Windows) and type whatever I need with all the special characters. What I meant was either the interface (not that important) or the spelling check - it is very annoying to having to uncheck the Check Spelling While Typing option. As for copyright symbols and the like, is there a way to insert them into a document or do I have to copy the text already containing it? I was trying to insert a bulleted points list but couldn't find any bullet characters anywhere to insert it. Ended up writing a text in Word and copying it (Web design project). I also have another question - right now I need to set my preferences every time I start AD. So uncheck the Spelling while typing, enable Snapping and set it to UI, copy items as SVG. Is there a way to set it like this as a default? Thank you all!

Hi, I'm very new to AD so I may be missing something but is there a way to add other languages to AD (other than the ones that are already there)? I'm asking specifically for the Czech language - it has characters that are not found in any of the languages you currently offer. Thank you.

Hi all, I'm a front-end web developer and just bought Affinity Designer today to work on my web design skills - from wireframing to website mockups. I have worked with Photoshop years ago but never quite got the hang of it. I'm hoping AF will be a better fit for my current needs. See you around.
