  1. I'm on Windows. Also, there are no pixels outside the canvas in my files. Not sure why this would inflate the file size though given that for JPG and PNG Photo exports only what's inside the canvas.
  2. In both cases I resized the image only once - either in the Resize Document window or in the Export Settings window.
  3. Ok, so I found another document where the opposite happens. If I resize it in the Export Settings window, the file is larger compared to resizing prior to export. Afphoto attached below. pattern1.afphoto
  4. There's something very peculiar I just found out. I have a document which If I resize prior to export, the exported image is quite a bit larger in file size compared to resizing it in the Export window. All quality settings are the same. When I open and compare both files, they look the same to me, no visible quality difference. The format I export to doesn't seem to matter. I tested PNG and JPG and they both exhibit this issue. Why does this happen? Please check the AFPHOTO file and the video I recorded. same_resolution_different_file_size.mp4 waves.afphoto
  5. Thanks! I would much rather have these options active with any tool active if I have a layer selected in the Layers panel. Not sure how the opposite can be harmful. If anything, it's just unnecessary clicks to make the Move tool active only to be able to flip a layer when I already know which layer I want flipped and have it selected in the layers stack. But hey, that's just my personal opinion.
  6. Layer's name filed should become editable only after the left mouse button has been released. Currently the name field becomes active when you just press and hold the left mouse button which can be an issue when dragging a layer up and down the stack - the layer's name field flashes briefly which can be unsettling for the user. Please check the screen recording I made that demonstrates the issue. Notice how the name field flashes. This can be prevented if the field becomes active only after the left mouse button has been released. layers_name_field_flashes_when_reordering.mp4
  7. Photo doesn't seem to properly select layers in the Layers panel when I move one of them and then SHIFT+click to select them all. I'm not sure if I can explain it well so I recorded a video. As you can see, even though I'm holding down SHIFT, Photo selects only one layer instead of all the layers from top to bottom. Layers_panel_selection_bug.mp4
  8. Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear enough. I want to move layers even if the starting point of my mouse drag is not exactly on one of the selected layers. I can do this in Photoshop, but can't seem to do this in Photo. Please check the screen recording I did. This is Photoshop. See how I don't really need to click on the object in order to move it? 9. I noticed that I can't use the flip and align commands in Arrange menu when the View or Zoom tool is selected. Is there are reason for this? I can use them with the Crop tool so why not with View and Zoom tool too?
  10. Undoing transforms on linked layers causes them to "teleport" in random places. Screen recording and afphoto file attached. linked_layers_transform_undo_bug.mp4 linked_layers_transform_undo_bug.afphoto
  11. Any updates on this? 6 years layer this basic feature is still not implemented. I don't see why we shouldn't be able to do this with the cropping tool if we can already do this with layers (holding Ctrl to scale them equally). I'm not a programmer, but I can't imagine this to be that hard to implement that it takes 6 years?
  12. There is a thing that has always bugged me about moving layers in Affinity Photo. It seems that I can move layers only if I have selected them in the canvas first. This is very tedious and sometimes even infuriating if the layers are inside a group or, god forbid, nested groups. Can't I just select the layer/s I want to move in the Layers panel and then just drag around the canvas to move them?
  13. Please check the attached document. If I select the two layers and do "merge selected", the layers get blurred. merge_selected_blurs_layers.afphoto
  14. Hi, I've noticed that Affinity Photo blurs the edges of pixel perfect rectangles (pixel layers, not shapes) if I stretch them even though "force pixel alignment", "move by whole pixels" and "snapping" are all turned on. This shouldn't happen, should it? In Photoshop, I can stretch a pixel perfect rectangular pixel layer (not shape) as much as I want without it getting blurred if the edges are pixel aligned and perfectly solid. Please check the videos I recorded. One is showing Affinity Photo and the other Photoshop for comparison. pixel_perfect_rectangle_gets_blurred.mp4 photoshop.mp4
  15. Sometimes I need to position, rotate and scale an object exactly the same way as another one. The way I do it now is by copying and pasting all of the values from the Transform panel one by one. Is there a quicker way of transferring all the Transform values from one object to another?
  16. Hi, I often use the "Shadows & Highlights" filter to make an image appear more "flat". I noticed, however, that it produces halos along the edges of my images which is unwanted because I want to use the filter when making tiling textures. You can clearly see the problem in the image below when I do an "Affine" filter with 50% tiling on the X and Y axes. Notice how the image is no longer tileable because of the halos produced by the filter. Is this normal? Can I avoid this?
  17. I have a large file that I'm working on which takes a few seconds to export as JPG. I noticed that if I cancel the export, the file I want to overwrite gets deleted. Is this normal? IMO, this shouldn't happen. Please check the screen recording attached. canceling_export_deletes_file.mp4
  18. If you start typing a name on layer and right after that you right click on its thumbnail, the right click menu appears in the wrong place. Please check the video I recorder. Steps to reproduce the bug: 1. Create a new layer (layer type doesn't seem to matter) 2. Start typing a name without confirming it (i.e. pressing Enter or clicking away) 3. Right click on the layer's thumbnail The right click menu will appear somewhere in the upper left corner of the screen instead of under the mouse cursor. rename_layer_right_click_bug.mp4
  19. Hi, Sorry to bring up a 2 years old thread, but I found that this issue still exists in the latest version. Should I post a new bug report thread in the Photo Bugs found on Windows section since the bug is still there in the newest version? Any idea if this bug has been looked at?
  20. So I gather this is a bug, yes? Hopefully the Affinity technical team can chime in to confirm.
  21. Interesting. So what do I need to do to not get this problem? Disable OCIO? How do I do that?
  22. I'm not able to record my screen currently, but I don't do anything out of the ordinary. I just open the EXR file and convert it to 8 or 16 bit. Please note that I have the following options enabled in settings (see below). Maybe try again with these turned on and you will see the bug. If you don't, it's probably because you're on a Mac and I'm on a Windows PC. The Windows and Mac versions of Affinity Photo are not exactly the same so it very well might be that the Mac version of Photo doesn't have this bug. I will try to record my screen when I have some free time.
  23. Thanks for the suggestions, @NotMyFault. I don't have hardware acceleration enabled. Please find attached a cropped version of the EXR. Please note that this issue appears with every 3D rendered EXR image that I've tested so far. exr2_cropped.exr
  24. Hi, I have a 3D rendered image saved as a floating point EXR. When I convert it to 8-bit or 16-bit in Affinity Photo, I get nasty image artifacts. Please check the screenshot below. If you need it, I can send the EXR file to Affinity support staff privately.
