  1. I loaded up Photo and see the color format is RGB/8,  and color profile is sRGBIEC61966-2.1
The Publisher document is  color format :CYMK/8
Color Profile: U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2

But I never saved the original pictures.  I just copied them from Photo and pasted the into a new Publisher document.
I am a noob when it comes to publishing so any help is greatly appreciated.

  2. I started an Affinity Publisher 2 document and just copied and pasted my images (work not saved) from Affinity Photo 2.
    They look very washed out.
Doing some research the problem appears to be something with "color profile"?  I don't really understand that, but my question being, is my Publisher document ruined, and I now need to start form scratch?  Or is there something I can change in Publisher to save my faded images?

No,' they're' annoyed that Affinity isn't doing what every other software company does and offering agreater loyalty discount for existing users, especially those who wasted their money just a few months ago, on a version that is now obsolete and will receive no more updates of any kind even if there's a security flaw.

Every software company gives a larger discount for existing users, except Affinity. It's standard.

You'll be annoyed too if they bring out v3 in 5 months time and your v2 is suddenly obsolete.

I completely wasted the money I spent a few months ago on v1. If I hadn't bought v1 then, I'd have the money to buy v2 now. By the time Christmas is over and I can save something, the price will be completely out of reach.

Being attacked by rich people for not being rich is also not improving the company's reputation.

V3 will not be released for a long time.  V1 was released in July 9, 2015.

To be honest if you just got V1 then you have a world of learning to do.  There is nothing in V2 that will make your pictures that much better.
The secret is, that it is the artist and not the program that makes great works.
That said... There will be more sales, Affinity goes on sale a few times a year.
So hone your skills and when the time comes you can upgrade.

I feel for you that you just bought V1, but no one is attacking you.

It is not correct that users with the V1 version have the same discount as those who buy V2 for the first time. I bought version V1 not even 6 months ago and now I should pay back everything as if I were a regular user. Shame!

You know I thought that at first.  But changed my mind.
I had the use of the Affinity line for years saving a lot of money over Adobe.
To be honest how much more of a discount do you want?  And extra 5% an extra 10%  in reality it is not that much more of a saving.  PLUS with the new Universal License makes the produce even a better value.
You are getting a great produce at a great value. I have no issue with them extending their generosity to others.

That said, I was hoping for a light room product, and Auto trace for Designer.

  5. All of a sudden I developed a brush issue for Designer (vector brushes only).
When I draw with any vector brush I get a generic round brush as a line.  If I then reselect the intended brush (or any brush)  the line looks correct.

I have restarted my computer and Designer with the same result. I have also mistakenly used the advice of Edit/Preferences/miscellaneous/Reset Brushes and now lost all my downloaded brushes.
Any suggestions on why my brushes do not look like what I selected until I draw, and have to reselect them?

Also, this issue is the same for both mouse and pen tablet

    Thanks

So AfftiyPhoto  1.8.5   runs great with my my XP-Pen Monitor in low precision.  But once I change to high precision is where the same issue occurs.

Here is the log as you requested.

  7. @SPaceBar

To be clear you want me to do this with the new  Customer Beta\Designer.exe\ that works  not the old one that was crashing (1.8.4.693 ).

At the moment, printed books are still outselling ebooks by 11:1.

This means that getting layout and printing done right is the absolute need before reaching version 2.0. Doing ebook export before everything is at the right place would make an inferior export function.

Can you supply some source for the 11:1 please?

Waiting till V2.0  for ebook export would be unexceptionable, since that would mean a pay update for something  Patrick Connor said that APub would have this feature after it's initial release.

I highly disagree with your concepet of when ebook should be introduced. If ebook is not solidly in the planning structure of the program now.  It may make it very difficult or impossible to add later. Planning is key to fast solid code.
