rafikiphoto reacted to Lee_T in Affinity Photo 2. Reset UI?
Hi rafikiphoto,
As well as the above, if you want to reset the entire studio, you can boot holding the control key to see the following window.
Select reset studio only, and hit clear.

Click and drag for the more dextrous amongst us is probably fine but for some of us oldies with arthritis and the like it can be painful at times. Scrolling is a much easier way for us. Capture One and LR manage it so I guess it must be possible.

Yes, in a way. But you said not to do a DAM while I recommend Affinity to go a head and do a DAM, but really get it right. Affinity should do a DAM that is purely focused for managing images. Then they have their Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer for working. And what they need to do is a "raw persona" that is own separate product for raw conversion that is used with all two (DAM and Affinity Photo) as integrated unit, instead both having something. Bring the updates to the raw converter quickly and even backport for older versions if possible.

I guess that's where we differ. (Old Land Rover Defender driver)

rafikiphoto reacted to - S - in Add .tif file mask to export dalog
I agree. I have tens of thousands of TIFF images dating back almost a hundred years. The originals and post-processed master files are all in *.tif format and therefore I will continue to use *.tif for consistency reasons. Having a mixture of *.tif and *.tiff would be an error waiting to happen especially when carrying out searches/filtering, or carrying out operations in bulk using command line tools. In addition the Affinity Photo 'save as' dialogue box doesn't see any *.tif files at all, which is a PITA.
In all honesty I don't understand why Serif don't just standardise on *.tif anyway. I don't see any advantages of defaulting to *.tiff when everyone else uses *.tif and have done for a long time. In my eyes it adds unnecessary complications with no benefit.

I understand that it's not an option to change the default TIF extension from .TIFF to .TIF (because .TIFF is a standard?). In my case all other applications I use save as .tif. It would be helpful to at least add a .tif filter to the AP export dialog so that files with both extensions are visible in the window, currently the window is always empty :) (See attached screenshot).
Thanks for consideration.

I agree, Affinity's default use of *.tiff is a complete PITA.

rafikiphoto reacted to R C-R in Default Export destination
While there is no default Export location, some of the path options demonstrated in the Affinity Designer 1.5 - Exporting: Automatic Directory/Folder Creation video tutorial may be useful to you. Even though the video is for Designer, it also applies to Photo.

rafikiphoto reacted to R C-R in Mouse wheel control?
This works for almost all text fields. One place it does not is in the Studio Color panel for setting opacity or noise. Unlike other text fields, when you place the mouse pointer over that text field, it turns into the 'I-beam' insertion point cursor, as if you were in text entry mode. But that is not true -- you still have to click once to get the blinking insertion point cursor.
I am not sure if this is an oversight, a bug, or what.
