  1. Can someone explain why Affinity Publisher is now regularly having a problem with file corruption? I’ve been having the same problem for 2 weeks now. The result is that I now can’t rely on Publisher to produce my catalogues. I’m having no file corruption problems with any other files or software on my iMac. My hard drive seems to be in good order, with no bad sectors. I’ve split my document into 4 sections, in case it was a memory or file size issue, but I still get the problem. It would be good if Publisher could get back to being reliable again.
  2. Hi Kaan Sorry to hear you're having this trouble. A large Publisher file I've been working on for several weeks is suddenly, an hour ago, not recognised by Publisher. I was working on it this morning and suddenly Publisher quits and then says it no longer recognises the Publisher file I was just work on! My Mac OS updated earlier today, to 10.15.7. Maybe that may have caused it. Unfortunately I can't change that now. My file was around 300MB, with all the images now linked. The file I'm now seeing in its folder is now only 1.2MB, so Affinity Publisher seems to have dumped loads of it. I wish you luck in sorting this. I'm noticing more and more people having similar problems so hopefully the nice people at Affinity will check it out and let us know how to prevent and solve the problem.
  3. I did have my newish Wacom tablet connected to my iMac as well as the Trackpad. I’ve been wondering if that may have caused a glitch. But they’re both connected now and there’s no problem. Thanks again, Dan C.
  4. Thanks Dan C. I've just opened up Designer, Publisher and Photo this morning - having changed nothing on my system - and the pinch to zoom facility is working again. I don't understand what may have caused it to stop or - even more curiously - why it should have resumed. Any thoughts? But I'm glad it's working as it should again and thanks for taking the trouble to respond to my question. Stay safe.
  5. Thanks for the idea, Dan. But when I open Affinity Designer>Preferences>Tools I don't see a gesture option for anything. See screenshot of Preferences>Tools dialogue box.
  6. Loving Designer v 1.8.2 on iMac (running OS 10.14.6). Since I upgraded, the pinch-zoom gesture on Apple Magic Trackpad no longer works on Affinity. Pinch-zoom still works on all other programs I use on the iMac. I noticed someone was having the same problem on Windows. Any thoughts?
  7. Me too. 1.7.2 retail version of Publisher on Mac OS 10.14.6. Now crashes on Print which is preventing me from completing my project. Bit of a major issue that perhaps needs addressing PDQ! Thanks
  8. What a good thought! I had tidied the Designer and Photo apps into a folder inside the Applications folder. Shouldn't Publisher be able to track the other apps down, though? This does seem a bit 20th-century if it can't. When I took them out and left them at the root level of the Applications folder Studiolink started to work! Thank you. :-)
  9. Thanks, Walt. Both Designer and Photo are 1.7.1. It may be because I bought Publisher via the Affinity site and Photo and Designer via Apple's App Store. Don't think they're talking to each other!
  10. I have the same problem on my Mac. Bought Photo and Designer some time ago. Bought Publisher as soon as it came out. All are latest versions. Can't get Studiolink to work. Tried deleting the files: com.seriflabs.affinitydesigner.appinfo and com.seriflabs.affinityphoto.appinfo and relaunched everything. No change. Just noticed that my Affinity order history only shows my order and purchase of Publisher. On the App Store, Apple knows I've bought Photo and Designer but is asking me to buy Publisher again! Any clues? Thanks :-)
  11. I'm in the same situation re: creating catalogues from text exported from a database. In the past I've done that by adding Style Tags - XML and long before that, Quark XPress tags! The tags referred to style sheet names in Quark. I added these tags to an export table in the database. On importing into Quark, the styles were automatically applied, without me having to go through and do it manually. Bliss! It would be great to know if Publisher could provide the same functionality, as it would greatly enhance its usefulness. What are the chances?
  12. Fan of good design & typograpy. Even bigger fan of Affinity! Now dumped Adobe to use Publisher, Designer and Photo on iMac. Loving it so far.

  13. Loving Publisher Beta so far. Working on a catalogue. To send my document for commercial printing, I have to convert the table to curves, because I don't want the printing company to have to worry about fonts. Just come across this problem: Created page with text (mostly using the Artistic Text Tool) and images When I convert most text to curves and export, all is fine When I also convert the table (created within Publisher) to curves, I get the error message: 'Failed to Save document... Save failed because document could not be written to.'' If I delete the table curves layer and choose Save, or Save As..., I can save, as normal. Is there a workaround? Will this problem be fixed at some point? I could probably create the tables elsewhere and import them, but that then builds in a huge time problem when corrections need to be done. My document will have around 250 pages so I need to make decisions now that I'm not going to regret later! Thank you if anyone can shed any light, oh wise ones! :-)
