I had also a crash on install 1.8. Look to your log.txt in your user directory. On me the install failed with "Wintab: Failed to load wintab32.dll". wintab32.dll was not in SysWOW64 however. I installed it and 1.8 was installed. Hope I can help you.

my first priority is the quality of Affinity Photo near PS and the bug fixes not a DAM. A DAM is nice to have, but not actually nessesary.

ok, I cant compare the Develop Persona with the RAW-Engine from Capture One. Thats a 250 $ missunderstanding. I think only for the Colour Editor from Capture One, if you could, you must pay the same price for complete AP (If you don't have a Sony CAM)

ok, lets see the positive things of AP. Its praiceworthy also for 49 € when the developper resolved some critical bugs. I hope this for 1.5.2 or higher. I bought also C1 a half year behind for 50 € but its only for Sony. The raw engine for all cameras cost 280 €. C1 is very stable and the raw engine is very good e.g. the colour editor but I can compare the 2 products. Some tools of AP are defenitely better than there in C1. For me AP is the best inventing since Photoshop but payeable.

Hi, I'm on Windows 10, I5 Cpu 16GB Ram, and SSD, AP takes 9 sec to load. I should't be work with a equipment smaller than i5 and 8GB Ram and SSD in this time. I compare AP with LR and think its some slowly but for me its important that it is stable.
