    Hi @pummelfee & @DM1 :)

I've created both an artistic text object and a regular text frame in a new document within Designer, wrote the word 'test' into the artistic frame, selected the word, copied it (using the Edit menu at the top), then pasted it (again using the edit menu).

At no point was the paste options greyed out for me. Can you please confirm:

What source was the text being pasted from?

Does this happen in any document for you?

    Many thanks in advance!

Strange... it was greyed out in the top menu in a document originally created on the Mac. Can‘t reproduce it now. The source was text from an eMail.

The other question was about the formatting. How can i insert text without?

    Thank you!! 🙂

  2. I mainly work on the Mac, but i would like to go more often with the iPad pro.

When i open a document on iPad in Photo or Designer, most of the time i did not have the fonts installed that are used.
    the workflow is:

    1. click on all strange looking textboxes to see what fonts are missing in each one

    2. note these font names

    3. add the fonts in the Designer or Photo preferences (have them stored in alphabetic folders on miy iPad)

    4. watch the installed font list growing larger and larger because no suitcase or fontxplorer app exists...

    5. going back to my Macbook beeing a bit frustrted

How do you manage fonts? Is there a chance that i could reduce these 5 steps a bit?

  3. Hi!

When i open a file on the iPad that i originally created on my Mac, AD does make wrong font replacements. I have installed only Frutiger Std 67 Bold condensed on the iPad, but the document uses the Frutiger Std Font 55 roman that is only installed there, and this is wrong.

Now i want to search for the font (i have copied the whole FontExplorer Folder in my iCloud Drive). Unfortunally every font has its own folder and when i install a font on the iPad, the window closes and i have to navigate again and again to the specific folder (it does not stay there).

I would appreciate a usable font management or any tipp how to workaround.

  4. Sorry but i am getting insane... so i try to find a solution here.

I have a photo of a product package, and about 20 different labels designed in Publisher. The label design must have a slight perspective change or some "skew".
Is there a way in AP to place the design, give it the skew it needs and then just change the source. Like in Photoshop ("smart objects") some years ago..?

Or do i really have to place the label image, then make the perspective changes 20 times?!?

    Please help!!!! :-)

  5. I really appreciate Affinity for the software suite, BUT:

    WHY IS AFFINITY SO IGNORANT?

This feature is a must-have nowadays for every Laptop user.. Many of us use Laptops and second screens, and plug out the 2nd screen on the go (of course).
Please, affinity team, don't ignore the needs of your customers completely like the big players. This ignorance pushed me from Adobe to Affinity once...

Example: we have wonderful technology like Apple Sidecar (or Duet display for older devices), were I can have my MacBook Pro as the workstation/main screen and the iPad as the 2nd screen were I can  place all those studio windows. That could be wonderful, if we could save this workspace. I guess one developer would be able to implement this within minutes.

Frankly: Professional work on laptops is not possible, as long as we have to change monitor setups.

I always thought Affinity is innovative... ;-)

So PLEASE give us the option to save workspace settings!!

  6. Hello!

I often work with placed documents, spreaded over several pages. Let’s say i have an illustration from AD placed often, on two (or more) pages.

In the recource manager, each file is packed within one dropdown menu. It makes it impossible to say "replace file xy.pdf on page 2 (and dont touch it on page 1!)

When i open the dropdown menus, the recource manager shows me were my placed files are used, but i can not make selections and then replace them. When i select more than one, the replace button is grayed out.

While the workflow is in some parts way different to InDesign i may have missed something and i appreciate any tipp.

For working with many spreaded placed files i still have to use Indesign...
