liraco got a reaction from lepr in lock guides
Yet another bump. Too many accidental budges and the grids aren't flexible enough to use those instead (say I want a 12 column grid inside of the margins of a page, can't do it unless I use very specific grids which don't always fit the design).

I'm really liking the tool but find so many missing things that should just simply be integrated already (not to mention finding so many "we're adding this" back from 2015 and still no news of said features.

    Good afternoon from Paris (France)

Since I use Affinity Designer I am regularly confronted to problem with guides.
Often when I move an object or when I resize it, I often capture the closest guide.

In the new release of Inkscape, they have added a new feature where you can lock the guide so that you can't then modify them by mistake.

May I suggest news evolutions about guides ?

The possibility to lock them On mouse over the possibility od displaying a tooltip with the value and then inside the UI we should find a lock pictogram to active it and retrieve this feature inside the guide's pop-up aswell as a checkbox like "Lock guides". The ability to export guides as a layer. What do you think about that ?

    Warm regards.

Currently we have to click on the new guide button, double click on the automatic guide value and set a new value.

It would be great if we can generate the guides according to values that's been copied from a text file. Or at the very least, if we duplicate the artboard and re-adjust the new artboard's dimensions, the guidelines are moved according to the new dimensions.  This helps greatly for guides created in % values rather than pixels.

It would be very useful to have functions to select the same:

Color fill stroke (color / width) Appearance To quickly select all your outlines, or background element in 1 color.
    Speed is everything.  :)

liraco got a reaction from NilsFinken in [Designer & Photo] Dark UI on/off fix
The dark UI has one huge flaw where it's hard to tell at times whether something is active or not, such as the snapping tool. Sometimes I've had to click it a few times to see which is darker. Why not have it be something that's NOT gray or black? What about a subtle color to highlight or some other effect to show something is on or off?

I should be able to glance at the magnet to know what the state is rather than stare at it or click it twice to check.

Saw this suggested by others. The Light UI is nice but that doesn't solve the issue in the current theme.

    Hi jordantrainor,
    Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
Yes, changing grid's origin point is coming in a future update. This was delayed a little because we wanted to ensure artboards (which are tied to this) were stabilised/working correctly before adding more changes.
