  1. Thank you both, easy when you know how! I assumed that as all the files were open they could be processed … Cheers, CC
  2. I only use Affinity rarely, it's beyond my normal needs, so I often find it tricky. I've opened 130 images of diary pages which I want to make the same width before converting to pdf, but the OK button is greyed out and I wonder what I'm doing wrong. Cheers, CC
  3. All fine thanks but it will take a good long time to discover what to do with them! C
  4. My Mac version already seems to be 1.6.6, and while it is no big deal I don't see how to get the 'goodies'. Cheers,

  6. Belated thank to those who offered help, this is the most helpful support community I think I have come on. FWIIW I solved the problem more easily by dragging the thumbnails out of a Preview PDF [I guess I could have one the same in Acrobat]. I did check on stokerg's point above and the progress bar [which is too discrete for my liking anyway] did not move in five minutes, but thanks to those who pointed out my other errors too! Cheers, Colin PS 'inviable' above is my spell check correcting what I presume was my miss-spelling of invisible!
  7. Pleased to - so in the first image my eye [I only have one that works]homed in on GIF RGB and I saw it's only other choice was greyscale, missing the more obvious items above. But in my defence I think that every app I have that offers export choices has them all in one dropdown. The second image is the file I exported and which took 35 mins with no progress bar, or if the bar id progress it was invisible to me [and my one good eye is 20/20]. I have just tried it again and seen no progress in the near-inviable progress bar after several minutes. Cheers, Colin
  8. Thank you so much for that. I have to admit to not really having come to grips with Affinity [to which I switched from PE6 having rejected every upgrade I'd bought as I liked it less than its predecessor] as now I seem to do so much more on my iPad using simpler apps for specific tasks like photographic documents. I think I have literally tunnel vision as I only noticed the export drop-down of greyscale or RGB and did not notice the icons above [FWIW I think in terms of GUI it would be better to only have the drop-down or only the icons], but exporting the 44 images all of which are under 500k took 35 mins and [GUI again] there was no progress bar. I'm sure I'll learn AP one day, but I realised overnight that the simplest solution to my specific task is to just drag the thumbnails out of the Apple Preview sidebar and then name each file with its date or page number or whatever to get them in the right order. Sometimes there just is an easier solution! Anyway, here is a rather pretty period letterhead from the current batch! Cheers, Colin Shell-Mex House correspondence etc (dragged) 27.pdf
  9. I am hoping that Affinity Photo can solve a problem that I should not have which is not of Affinity's making*. In the attached screen dump you can see 44 thumbnails happily imported to AP, but how to get them out? File/Export only seems to create GIFs, albeit of a reasonable size, but you can only do them one at a time and it takes forever. If I select All it takes longer than forever on a late 2015 27" iMac [3.3Ghz Core i5] with 8Gb of RAM. Indeed as of now I'd say that it has hung as it has been in 'export mode' for a good 10 minutes. Is there a genius out there who knows how to export a batch import of PDFs as TIF or JPG using Affinity Photo [or by any other system]? Cheers, Colin * by way of explanation I take a lot of photos of pages of book or documents on an iPhone and then move them to my iPad to use a so-called 'scanning app' to correct the geometry, etc. The problem starts with Apple's Airdrop which makes it impossible to transfer the images in the correct order. So, when I use the scanning app I get dozens of pages that all look the same at preview sizes in one pdf that I move to my Mac. The obvious solution is to reorder the images in Apple's Preview, but if you have dozens in the side panel that is not practicable. So I thought I'd import the lot into Affinity Photo as then export as individual files. Now back to the top!
  10. Thanks RC-R. Before reading your post I once again dropped multiple file icons on the Affinity Dock icon and low and behold multiple tabs. I can't be sure, but I do feel that I'd have noticed them before, despite the blackness. I have to say that I deprecate the 'black look' that has become so common, it does not add clarity to say the least. Clearly neutral colours are necessary to reduce the mess introduced by users' less than ideal working environments, but there is nothing in the 'book' that says neutral has to be nearly black! Thanks again.
  11. I'm new to Affinity [1.5.1] and new software is always a challenge. I've been using PS for decades and if I wanted to open multiple images at once I'd just drag them to the Dock icon [as with any other app I can think of]. 'Go to menu File ▸ Open and select multiple images' is clear and simple, but I don't have the option, just Open and Open recent. I've not come to terms with 'workspace' but if it it what I think it is I don't have one unless an image is already open ...
