InfoCentral reacted to Novak in GPU, disappointed
Or at least be a bit more honest in their marketing material: "Affinity 1.7 for Mac and 1.7lite for Windows now available". Or "1.7 kind of edition".

InfoCentral reacted to Merde in GPU, disappointed
I thought that is why OpenGL and DirectDraw/Direct3D was invented, but I am not a programmer and my knowledge on that subjest is superficial.
I really hope you will overcome difficulties, because I have tried radial blur on 100 MPix image myself and, well... it was not that impressive at all

InfoCentral got a reaction from Jowday in GPU, disappointed
Yeah right! Lots of Windows graphics programs have GPU acceleration i.e. Photoshop/Illustrator.

InfoCentral reacted to verysame in GPU, disappointed
Other than being disappointed once again by their marketing communication skills (I had to ask here why GPU is not available on PC, very misleading though not surprising move), I remember I've been asking for GPU support and I've been told many times from the devs and from frequent users on this very forum that GPU wouldn't add much to Affinity.
Well, look at the Keynote now...
I had very good reason to stop trusting the comments on this forum, now I have confirmation.

Try Hitfilm Express. It is both a nonlinear video editor as well as a visual effects program

InfoCentral got a reaction from firstdefence in REMOVING UNWANTED OBJECTS EFFECTIVELY
That was an interesting way of doing it. I never thought of doing it that way. Thanks.

That is one messy table lol!
For a lot of this I think you are going to have to use the pen tool to make selections for the things you want to keep, and save as a channel so that you can load the selection back in, then make a shape matching the table and fill it with an elliptical gradient selecting the colours on the table, you can then load the selections and create a mask to knock out where the objects that you want to keep are.
A quick tidy up, I'm sure you or others could make it better and spend more time on this but just as an example.

InfoCentral reacted to Paulrus in 3DConnexion support please
I've searched the forums and it seems its been brought up a few times in the past, but I would love to see more support for 3D Connexion devices. I have a Surface Dial and I honestly think I'm going to sell it because it's just too laggy and slow when compared to things like the Space Navigator. I think Microsoft made a big effort to save battery life on the Dial and it causes it to power down quickly. The Space Navigator is USB powered, so it's always on.
All I'm looking for is pan, zoom and rotation - nothing else. I don't want to resize brushes with a wheel - just navigate my canvas.
Any chance it could be added to Designer & Photo (Windows specifically)?

InfoCentral reacted to toltec in Affinity products for Linux
I've just had a brainwave.
What would really improve Linux is if there was some really good graphics software available for it.
I wonder why nobody has thought of that before ?

InfoCentral reacted to Alfred in Affinity products for Linux
I didn’t read it that way at all! I understood @InfoCentral to be saying it’s unlikely that even as few as 10 Linux users on this Serif forum would donate a mere $5 per month for development of Linux builds of Synfig Studio, and that therefore the chances are very small that Serif could persuade thousands of Linux users to shell out tens of dollars for an Affinity app.

Ha, they will buy not. Smith Micro put out an Anime Studio Pro Linux version for 1 maybe 2 releases and dropped it for lack of sales. Xara released a Linux version and it died also. Several companies have tried the Linux market and then killed them off for lack of sales. You now have several groups that are actively trying to develop software for Linux that matches what is available in the commercial market and they are struggling because no one wants to support them. I hear users here say they can get half million dollars for a Linux version but I say they are dreaming. Just look at Synfig Studio the premier 2D animation software being developed for Windows, Mac, and Linux. They barely get $50/mo worldwide in support.
If just 10 users on this forum would donate a mere $5/mo for its development then they will start nightly Linux builds of Synfig Studio. Do you think you can get just 10 people on this forum willing to part with what would be about the cost of a cup of coffee. It won't happen and surely wouldn't be very prosperous for Serif to release a Linux version of their product line. When it comes to putting money down this is when Linux users go into hiding.

I am hoping for a long delay. The longer the development cycle the longer I get to keep my money!
