It was officially supported on Windows but it stopped working there also. -
I purchased Pinnacle Studio for video editing. When I went to preview a video it would render a few frames and then freeze while continuing to scrub along. If I would stop and start again it would do the same, render a few frames and freeze. I knew something was wrong so I went into device manager and found that I had both Intel Graphics and Nvidia Graphics enabled. I disabled Intel Graphics and everything worked fine. I have read that having both enabled is common on laptops but obviously can cause problems with programs.

I have both Page Plus X9 and Xara Designer Pro. Both are great programs. I like Designer Pro because I can do both DTP and Web Design with it. Since Serif dropped WebPlus this is also another good alternative. But if your just wanting a DTP program while your waiting on AP than either of these programs will do. http://www.xara.com/us/page-layout-designer/features/

Mac OS and Linux are both based on the UNIX platform so one would think that it shouldn't be too hard. -

Yep, if you want to claim the treasure then you have to be willing to take on the headaches... That's why there are millionaires and then there are billionaires. It comes to down to what your willing to go after; a piece of the pie or the whole pie. Believe it, there are plenty of apps in the Android App Store. -

Affinity for Linux

Yeah using programs once installed is pretty straight forward but getting some programs installed can be a big headache. Its nowhere near just click and install. Anyone considering using Linux needs to walk into it knowing it's not for the faint of heart. If your someone who doesn't care to know about how the OS works but just wants it to run your software then Linux is going to be a huge nightmare for you. You will need to know the OS and how the various components all work together. You will need to learn some basic programing skills and command line instructions to install software. Software comes in various extensions which require knowledge of installers and command line instructions to get them into Linux. I have been playing around with Linux Mint for a few years now and I have software I have downloaded on my computer that to this day I still haven't figured out how to install. Most people who use Linux possess a high degree of technical knowledge and a good grasp of the UNIX framework.
