Affinity products for Linux
InfoCentral replied to a topic in Feedback for the V1 Affinity Suite of Products
The reason Serif doesn't want to invest into Linux is because open source software users have a reputation for not wanting to pay for software. It is a widely held belief that they want everything for FREE. Very few Linux users support development of software for the Linux platform which is why, rightly, Serif doesn't want to tread into the waters. And everyone has a very good excuse/reason for not wanting to fund Linux platform development or software development for Linux. Why would Serif want to invest into Linux when they see users won't support development for existing Linux software? -

Integration with Fusion and Resolve
InfoCentral replied to Fatih19's topic in Older Feedback & Suggestion Posts
Most 2D animation software use layers (i.e. Moho, Synfig Studio, CrazyTalk Animator) but a few do use nodes (i.e. OpenToonz, ToonBoom). Of course this thread is about Fusion and Resolve which are both node based with After Effects and Hit Film layer based. Almost all 3D software is either node based or heading that way. For instance Modo started out layer based but added nodes several versions ago. So you can pick which way you want to work, nodes or layers. -

If you want to animate 2D then Synfig Studio is the way to go. If you want to animate 3D then Blender is the way to go. Both are FREE. -

3D graphics - is it possible?
InfoCentral replied to dave2017's topic in Older Feedback & Suggestion Posts
Since we are not talking about animation but still images it would make more sense to go the other direction. Create your scene in AD and export it into your 3D program as a background image and place your 3D object(s). Once you have it looking the way you want, render the still image. -
I would take a look at Synfig Studio. It's FREE and it fits nicely into the current Affinity pipeline.

If you want to add animation into your pipeline then you can use Synfig Studio along with AP and AD now. No need to wait. Best of all it's FREE.
