Hi, see I right, that – whatever is set to EXPORT PDF / MORE – APu makes the same PDF-file? Only 72 dpi or 300 are different? What is PDF 1.6, please? Is it different to PDF/X-4? Is this PDF a CMVK-file? Are all PDF in CMVK? Why allways the PDF-titel in Vorschau/ View is an old one, which I used a month before? I took the old file in APu but gave it a new name for the next project. Thx, lars

Hi, thanks again. I know a little about the system. But nothing about the settings. It looks like that all the PDF with X make the same files, if bilinear or another in: MORE. They have more or intensiv color as other settings without X (CMVK; and the file is bigger). There is a test now sent to print with /X-4; we will see. Best, lars

Hi, looks like APu changes them to CMVK. But it is fine to know the difference and understand why I created the images new half a doozen. I try to find colors of skin the first time... Very difficult for me. With the X4, may be the X1 too, it get a chance. Thanks, lars

Hi, some hours it needs to find out, that PDF is not PDF, and the PDF-export gives only good colors, if PDF-X4 is used, bilinear is set, while the setting: "PDF-print" out of APu is more grey. Is there a setting to make it better? PDF-X4 is near what I see on the APu screen (no exact calibration) and on the screen of Capture one. And it is accepted at blurb.de, where my prints are done. Hi, a last point: it seems to me that in the APu settings on my Mac may be something fixed. Things happening when I started with my new test, are not activ now. I even restarted the Mac itself, nothing changed. It´s a Beta, so I will wait. Regards, lars

Hi, 1. it is not possible to mark more than one image, if I see it right. Once I gave new pics into the folder, there starts a column of symbols with the names of the pics automatic and seems to read every pic; but it is not to see in the pages with the images. And I think the PDF does not show the new one (but I´m not shure about this point, can´t test it now). 2. It is said above, the hoke in the references does not work, i found it too, not suddenly, not after a newstart of APu. 3. There happens nothing, if images are deleted; the old mirrored image is seen, so no information about the problem is told (may be in the PDF they are missing). 4. The question: if one will locate missing files comes nearly every newstart of a AFPUB, it has no function, I think. Say NO and nothing will happen, the known files are included. There is one more problem: if one say: YES, one must locate every image itself; here should be asked: would you locate the folder. For my work – it is not a bussiness one – creating workbooks with photographies, the last had 230 pages and one image per page, it is ok, really to read the images new if Apu is new started. If all pics are new or some of them doesn´t matter then. My test projekt today has 30 pages, and the AFPUB has 150 MB; so I think it includes the pics, but the setting in the document setup say: prefer linked. Bye, lars

No Video, sorry, Sean. If I make a book, there is a folder with all images coming say out of Capture1. Then I see this pics are not ok, may be the color... what ever. They will corrected. So, if really images are linked (and not embedded) to the APu file and I delete all the images in the source folder, stop APu and copy all new into the folder, start APu again, it should be clear that now the book shows the new images. But it is not. There is (only if select an image?) the button: replace image. This one I would like as: replace all. Thanks, lars

Hi, Walt, your are right: export a JPG for printing. I select page 1 of a publication, form 1 comes up: Then I change to form 2 (420x360; Lanczos 3; 85%) what I get: 2888x2475 px in 300 dpi (in: Vorschau/ View). I want 420x360 px. Best, lars

Hi, in a folder with images, which are set into a publication, this images are restored with other colors (same names). After that, APu worked pic by pic (a column right runs up). But it does not show the new images. How to do that, please: restore all new pics in the book? Thanks, lars

Hi, export a single page as a JPG it holds the px from book and change not to what I write in the form. Would be fine to fix the last settings. lars PS: TIMES is accepted by blurb.de (not: Times New Roman)

OK, blurb.de accepts the images (it´s only 46 MB), but not: Times New Roman. But I will check it later, there is a print with accepted characters... Bye, lars

Ja, es klappt jetzt. Mir scheinen 58 MB für 90 Seiten in 300 dpi ziemlich wenig (früher hatte ich 150...). It´s all fine now. Hi, the print is done with 300 dpi; that works now and before. The problem is the WEB-PDF, which makes – now and not before – the trouble as you see above in the blue house, where not only the horizontal wires are wrong as Tomaso shows. And I see now, he thinks too, there is a preview used. Is there nobody who can make a JPG to PDF? So let us see what the friendly staff says. Best, lars

Hi, thanks a lot – but it is to much for me. Walt: 108 or 450 are set in the pre-settings. The problem is, that there are PDF which worked in 72 dpi: http://www.larshennings.de/down/larshennings.de-detail.pdf . Done with APu a version before. It worked in printing too, a book is on my desk! The book I make now, with APu 1.7.0.227, is the same empty form/ Vorlage as this one in the link above. What I do is as before: from Capture One 11 are made JPG: 300 dpi, 2550/ 1700 px and set to APu (the printed images are 21 x 14 cm). Before I did it, the JPG are OK in Vorschau/ View, then made to PDF in Vorschau, read again with it; fine. This JPG are read in OpenOffice too, fine. EDIT: And it is read by APh, fine. Then this JPG are set to APu and export to PDF with 72 dpi as I did it many times before: you see the result above. Export with 300 dpi it is OK too. I did not change settings or whatever. That´s why I think there is a mistake in APu 1.7.0.227, or a new pre-setting. There is one thing more: If the JPG comes out from Cap. O. in 72 dpi, I can see the problem in Finder in the small button. In RAW files there is a little JPG included (that´s all I know about), is there a little JPG inside the JPG? And reeds the new APu this one? Regards, lars

Hi. 1. It would be fine after opening the image table by the button left and move a pic to the book, NOT to fix this table until esc is used, but move the book up and down and put pics into it in a first step. 2, better to free the table window to set it to the side with allways first position. 3. to show in this table which pics are included in the book till now and show the page number there. 4. the mouse should stay at the pic which was choosen last if the table is opened again; often I use the next number then. So I could choose the pics in a first step to the pages, second making it exact. Reg. lars

Ja, thanks, that works. Better was, to click in the pic double and to get an arrow then and a main frame in the layer field, as it is on the frame layer. But for me it is ok now. Regards, lars

WUNDERFULL!!! If one – as I allways do – not make the frame first and then include the pic, but moves the image using the: include image button direct to the page, the pic becomes a frame. Two movings and the pic is where it shall be (1. up to left edge of marvins, 2. right down to bring it to the right marvin). But in the layer-table is no special second layer shown with the image. Is there a way to do my way and then open the second layer? THANKS, lars

No, I would like to move an image inside of the frame if the image is bigger (!) then the frame. So I can first see and then say in APu what I want to show (and must not go back to APh to change the pic). There may be a part of the page I will test the design: so or so or others... So the frame can be changed: smaller, longer... And the image should be move into the new form of the frame with its best part. Ich möchte den Rahmen beim Design ändern können, ohne erst eine neue Grösse des Bildes zu machen. Den Rahmen verändern, kleiner, länger. Und dann möchte ich das Bild entsprechend der Komposition neu im Rahmen positionieren (um am Ende vielleicht zur ersten Form zurückzukehren). Gruss, lars
