To Start off. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH EXPORTING IMAGES OR THE EXPORT PERSONA AT ALL.

    well to the actual Request:

sometimes you worl with affinity on multiple Devices (or you just use the beta) and you dont want to do all the changes everywhere but it's kinda annoying precisely setting this stuff up.

and that's not all. maybe you someday have to re-install you computer and set up everything again, not really a funny activity.

so my point is you should be able to export your settings so you can import them at any time, anywhere, for any reason.

I would wish noise could be controlled with a few more parameters. Size of grain for example. At the moment noise looks good on monitor but in reality it is so fine that halftoning may eat it invisible.

Of course, if I set document dpi lower pixels will be bigger... but as long as PDF export does not support vector shapes with pixel elements, result would be too low res output.

Thanks for everybody's input on this one :) Just to reiterate, version 2 will be a new version, not an update to version 1 - all updates are free and this means within the version you have purchased - this is, as has been pointed out, 100% standard practice for software for the last 20+ years. With regards to upgrade pricing for version 2, well, who knows?... the reality is that our focus is utterly on version 1 and making it into the product we all want it to be. We have not written a single line towards version 2 at this point and I don't imagine that will change for a long time. We set out with the intention of creating fully-featured, professional level software that was fast and fun to use, and we set a price that we thought would be fair so that we could sell it to lots of people and they would all be happy - we intend to keep adding features until it reaches a mature level that we are happy with, then we will start to write version 2...

If we don't put enough into version 2 to make it an attractive purchase at whatever price we may set, then that is our problem - and we will pay the penalty for it, but that's a long time away before we need to even think about it... ;)

Incidentally, perhaps somewhat differently to other software companies, the people involved in writing this software actually use it and enjoy it - and we've also all bought it with our own money as soon as it went on sale. We want the same experience as our customers and we have the same expectations. If we did something that wasn't in the customer's best interests then we'd also be letting ourselves down - and I certainly don't want that...

wait a sec I smell something weird. in the worst case you may get yourselves sued for false advertising because:

    https://affinity.serif.com/de/ui-design-software/
at point 15 it says and I quote:

that quote by Callum doesnt sound like "all future updates completely free".

the english version sounds a little bit less boasting about the updates, but still says that updates are included, with no stars or footnotes or anything

    Hi My1,
    Yes, there is:
    Affinity Designer (Win)
    Affinity Photo (Win)

And here's the template in case you want to customise them:
    Customizable Keyboard Shortcuts Pack

They use the Open Sans font family from http://fonts.google.com

That is indeed fine! The Beta and Retail version share different install directories as well as different settings so nothing you do in one will affect the other.

    Hi Patrick,
would you be so kind and explain to me why it is so important, apps to be multi-user and not single-user, because it is very nice idea to have portable apps.

that is sad, it would be epic to have a portable version, for example to just have it on a USB and take it along with me. which means that no admin rights are required and whatnot.

It would be lovely if I could convert my brush presets into a format Affinity could recognize. I know the .abr format is supported, but it would be great if I could convert .tpl brush tool presets. I have bought some of Kyle's brush packs to match with scans of my artwork so I can work over them with natural results.

As DAUB & .tpl carry a lot of similar attributes and brush textures, I figure some sort of converter would be possible. Even if it was just a quick and dirty external converter app, anything would do!

Would love to hear your thoughts (I know other features are more of a priority at the moment). Also if anyone has had any success with converting .tpl brushes with their textures, etc in tact, I'd love to hear from you!

That's because you're not thinking about Lightroom in the right way.

Although some people use it this way (and are severely limiting themselves), it was never originally intended as a one-stop workflow solution: from v1 the idea was to use it for your conversion and basic adjustments and then hand off further post-processing to PhotoShop or similar solution, pushing a lossless-format converted file to the pixel editor.

The fact that Lightroom's adjustment capabilities have been substantially increased over the years doesn't change the logic here: and you can do this right now, even if you decide to drop Lightroom - just export your files as full-sized 16 bit tiffs, or whatever other format you want to use, then you can do whatever you want with them in Photo, going forward.

Photo is analogous to PhotoShop, not Lightroom.

You "rent" pretty much any software, including Photo. All you're granted is permission to use it, and you no more "own" Photo than you do Lightroom, and if you want to stay current on an ongoing basis, you'll be giving money to Serif for the long haul, just as you would Adobe:

yeah I read that stuff already, and if I would want to use this on a business on a shared multi-os computer would I need to get multiple Windows licenses or does one license cover all windows installations on that hardware.
