too bad that this would be raster based, a vector based lensflare in designer would be pure awesome. because aith a raster based lensflare and importing it into designer I can also use Gimp (which I've use a long time, so I know my ways there, although there's it's called the Gradient Flare.).

But aren't pixel brushes implicitly also applied to a point, curve or whatever when you paint with those?

I mean technically it should be possible to record normal brush strokes as curves (although maybe not making each stroke its own object) and therefore do so with vector brushes?

Also you could use tjis to just slightly adjust the brush path when you made the line instead of every time undo and redraw

I mean if you want to do something really big, wouldn't you kinda have to throw pixel brushes into the trash because a very thick brush tip would get pixelated as hell?

well let me try to rephrase it a bit.

you say vector bushes have to follow some kind of path like a line, curve or whatnot. but isnt it pretty much the same for normal brushes in real life and by extension pixel brushes?
I mean the only difference is that you cannot see the path or modify it later, but in the essence when you draw with your brush you essentially in the essence draw a kind of path implicitly, for example when you fill an object you dont bucket-fill with a brush (well obvious) but you have to draw some way or another (for example draw lines up and down, left and right or whatever you like

small example. if you let for example a mouse recorder run while you draw with a pixel brush, you have the path you made with the brush  and can recreate it later on.

and for a vector brush you also follow some kind of path, just with the difference that here the path is explicitly, as in you can see and modify it later.

the attached screenshot 238.png for example shows a form I filled up using a vector brush just kind of randomly, while screenshot 239 shows the same form but filled up with a pixel brush, also kind of randomly. doesnt look too different as far as I can see.

also wouldnt pixel brushes due to the fact that they are pixel based, look really bad if you use them for something really large? because pixel-based things dont really scale well.

well sometimes you might to scale large for example for large posters or whatever.

also are there any differences in the mechanics of the brushes that need this kind of seperation?

I mean if the brushes basically aside from the fact that pixel brishes are applied directly while vectors stay as curve, then there would be not really a reason to do seperation. as for the need of processing power, true this is a problem but could be solved by "locking" brush layers when you finished working with those so those dont need to be regenerated all the time unless you actually do something with those.

also I might say "scale to infitity" a lot but well it's an exeggeration but pixel designing has been annoying in my opinion because vectors scale both down and up pretty well which doesnt work as nicely with pixels

also can you give me a bit more explanation on that "organic" and so on part? I kinda dont get that part. I mean the vector brush tool can seemingly draw quite normally (at least with a mouse, dont have a pen-tablet) (the toll with the half annoying, "you have to set every part of the curve yourself" is iirc called "pen")

well one problem to start is that a winstore version wont run on win7. also a UWP piece of software wont run on win8.1 either. axing any of those 2 is in my opinion not a good Idea because both are still in support and Windows 10 still is a piece of problematic software where drivers can fail and a lot of other funny stuff can happen with their system of 2 big updates per year.

and to top it off, you need an MS account for the Win Store which has its implications, especially if it still behaves like back when I tried the Win10 Store the first time, where it wanted to convert your whoole user account into a Windows account, in comparison Win8 let me the option of setting up the MS account only in the store which is way less problematic.

and at the very least I trust microsoft not a bit, especially with their recent path of win10s and even going as far to say it's the "soul" of win10, and having a full lockdown, honestly builds a scary image of the FUture of windows in my Mind at the very least.

and well if you are born colorblind, designer isnt the best job and if you werent you should still be able to remember how blue looks when designing and stuff, with the rgc sliders giving you the ability to directly pinpoint a color, also there are probably enough system-wide color blind tools.

Project Brush Set 20 Pattern Brush Sets
Updated the brush set to version 2
    Changes/improvements as below
    Version 2.0
    1. Removed old versions redundant now..
    2. All nozzles are now vector based replacing previous raster versions (as much as possible)
    3. Replaced some of the older Base Patterns with some organics (set 04)
    4. The old brush set was appearing darker and less intense with 1.7/1.8 update...I have fixed that with this version!
    5. Updated the Sample sheets to latest layout (included ref to updated/new patterns).
    6. Organised the sets into groups of 30 (Group 01 x4)
    7. Added a generic set of brush Nozzles for texture variation (These are repeated across all sets)
    8. Included sample sheets of base patterns
    9. 19 new base textures
Archived the Older Brush set and updated Library information

well almost, but I partially screwed up as well.

there are 4 possible positions in total that I observed:

line is full width: global object

line is only up to icon and name: same level as the object above -> inside a group)

like only covers name: move the object inside the other object, e.g. top object of group (dunno what this does for anything except groups, but it does something)

line VERICALLY next to the the icon: mask.

the only place where fun gets seemingly problematic unless you close the group is when you have the group at the bottom and want to move an element below the group into the artboard. you have to close the group for that but saside from that, I dont see much problems.

well my laptop is kinda dead so I had to do it at home on my big TV which serves as PC screen, but at work on an iirc 22 inch screen I dont have problems either.

using the file you attached in #34 on page 2 I can grab the rectangle and drag it slightly upwards to move it inside the group as last element (be careful that you dont put your mouse too far to the right, or else you will make it the layer mask for the element above.

and for dragging a layer/object from inside down you do the same (but when you move your mouse too far down and the blue line indicator becomes full width you move it outside of the group.

    Hi,

given the amount of items in the "View" menu, I think it would be a great help, if the "Studio" got it's on main menu entry rather than being a sub-item of the "View" menu.
It does make logical sense, having it in the ,View' menu, but it would be much easier and faster accessing the panels through it's own window, especially considering how crowded the "View" menu already is and how many items the "Studio" contains.
