  1. well almost, but I partially screwed up as well. there are 4 possible positions in total that I observed: line is full width: global object line is only up to icon and name: same level as the object above -> inside a group) like only covers name: move the object inside the other object, e.g. top object of group (dunno what this does for anything except groups, but it does something) line VERICALLY next to the the icon: mask. the only place where fun gets seemingly problematic unless you close the group is when you have the group at the bottom and want to move an element below the group into the artboard. you have to close the group for that but saside from that, I dont see much problems.
  2. well my laptop is kinda dead so I had to do it at home on my big TV which serves as PC screen, but at work on an iirc 22 inch screen I dont have problems either. using the file you attached in #34 on page 2 I can grab the rectangle and drag it slightly upwards to move it inside the group as last element (be careful that you dont put your mouse too far to the right, or else you will make it the layer mask for the element above. and for dragging a layer/object from inside down you do the same (but when you move your mouse too far down and the blue line indicator becomes full width you move it outside of the group.
  3. I have no problem moving an object both inside a group as lowest element or outside that group in both the beta and stable versions (although in bright UI the blue line isnt as nicely visible as in dark). including the switch from outside to lowest and back I made shots for all scnarios (inside to lowest, inside to outside, outside to lowest, lowest to outside) in stable and beta all done with your afdesign file a few posts back although you have to be careful with your mouse. if you are working with a group on the very bottom you move your mouse a few pixels up to get into the group and down to get out.
  4. there is no attached file. if you used the basic uploader, did you also push the upload button?
  5. happened to me too. but this shot kinda looks like they forgot some anti-aliasing
  6. did you try basic uploader? if no. select it, choose file (and dont forget to push the upload button next to it)
  7. well I usually dont do too much weird stuff (the only weird thing I notice more often than i like is that symbols' text frames really like to desync without me even shutting sync off, but that isnt beta)
  8. thanks. please keep the file for just yourself and if needed the affinity team, would be nice.
  9. okay. tell me when you have it so I can kick it into oblivion (also why does this forum software's default uploader need flash, HTML5 has been there for quite a while by now) Regards.
  10. I still have some positioning problems when using a file made in 1.5.3. a group of 2 text layers suddely is somwehere quite different in 1.6.
  11. thst is if you can do distort well in a vector environment.
  12. true, affinity is awesome, I am riding on the license of my boss (she cant even use affinity, so no problem for that) but wanna get myself an own license, but with the recent price raise in Europe (thanks apple by the way) a sale is pretty damn helpful.
  13. well with a reduced update price it is ofc a lot better than buying new, but on the other hand it's a big "let's see" for v2, because we know pretty much next to nothing about it and first we need to get 1.6 out
  14. thanks for the info, even If I have no Idea where you got that from.
  15. for starters not everything here has a mac. I have a PC that I got 2012 from the discounter, and now I am upgrading it with dead-cheap used xeons. also not everyone here is using affinity professionally a a large business or whatever. also when affinity 2 comes, we will have to pay again (which isnt too bad of a model, but I still had to mention it)
  16. I just (just for the sake of it, also because it's fun to compare) kicked open the japanese page (since that's the other language I can understand besides German and English) and there it pretty much says: the normal price is (insert regional price here, in my case 54,99€) but from now on it's (regional reduced price, in my case 43,99€) no joke. the locale and the currency work independent of each other. key word being "normal price" https://translate.google.com/#ja/en/通常価格 also the archive shows from december the same wording on AF-photo. https://web.archive.org/web/20161219072717/https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/photo/
  17. get the beta version. light UI is there.
  18. that would be awesome. the only thing that would make it even more awesome would be if affinity design would have instead have an easily readable format so that my script could easily mess with the fun (I for example implement different color schemes in my SVG logo by relacing the id of the fill of some parts with a placeholder which the script then properly fills out depending on what I throw as parameters. but not gonna happen for a piece of proprietary software.
  19. one small "problem" of affinity is that even though the files are generally vectors, you cant easily export them down to SVG because a ton of effects are either not yet implemented in the SVG export tool of affinity or flat out not possible in SVG. so one thing that would be awesome would be a simple export tool which should also be possible to be invoked from the command line, so you can easily whip out something at any size you want without too much prepararion (except for stripping the thing down as this shouldnt be a full-fledged export persona) I for example have a PHP script which iust kicks open inkscape to scale some SVGs I made earlier to any size I want for example to simplify the work and not having to export every size at its own while at the same time maintaining compatibility (complex SVGs may take a considerable amount of computation and some SVG engines flat out suck.
  20. and maybe rename the studio to "tools" or whatever, because honestly studio sounds kinda obscure,
  21. well that's no surprise these things are often seriously long and complicated and it gets worse if they are not written in your language and we have gotten quite used to just clicking okay. there really should be in general everywhere a short and easy to understand outline that explains everything important without all the complex legal wording and stuff
