if you have coins and bills as your affinity fund wouldnt that be kinda useless as you cant just run into a Saturn or whatever and buy a box, although I really wouldnt have anything against it (although the obvious problem would be the extra cost lol)

Error Msg: "Document Failed to Save and must now be closed"

couldnt at least for reasonable sizes the entire doc be kept in memory so it doesnt have to result in that? -
Error Msg: "Document Failed to Save and must now be closed"

I have this sometimes too especially if the network share loses connectivity for a bit. (but it was designer on Windows) I can see why an error message is needed if it cant save, but SERIOUSLY, forcibly closing the document is NOT the right way to go about it, rather spawn a save as dialog. -
(meta) beta and stable using the same icon?
My1 replied to My1's topic in [ARCHIVE] Designer beta on Windows threads
precisely. it was probably changed when they introduced the new logos. -
hello, just wanted to note something less about the program but rather about the beta test itself apparently with the re-branding of 1.7 there are no beta specific icons anymore and even the title you can see in the taskbar just says "Affinity Designer" which makes it really ugly since there is only one true place where you can see that you are in the beta and that is the splashscreen which is also used in the about panel. I think this can easily lead to confusion for people who use both on the same machine and should be fixed sooner or later.

@Estrobeda well I can see why they wont officially do a wine version because then they would quite literally come to w(h)ine when something doesnt work which might not be the fault of serif/affinity.

nice to know as I would also totally dig it, I switched my Laptpo to Linux (Kubuntu) last august and it works pretty decently (win10 is ugly and the driver situation of 8.1 which I use as main on my other machines is, well, not pretty), and there are many things which work so much better after some setup which dont work as nice or not at all in windows (like for example having a german layout without the "dead" keys, or NOT forcing a US-Keyboard onto me while writing japanese or the pretty neat circular scrolling feature which doesnt work on all touchpads in windows etc etc) honestly Linux in my opinion has only 2 things that are actually hard: 1) the setup (drivers and stuff) 2) programs (obvious) and yeah I would totally dig affinity on Linux one way or another. also I think the idea to have your purchase count as Linux instead of win/mac outlined in that one post pretty awesome:

(originally from https://twitter.com/My1xT/status/1093096365532549120 ) how about making it so the beta has a version numbering available where one can see what version is active. both on the publisher download page https://store.serif.com/de/update/windows/publisher-beta/1/ and in the customer panel you see only "1.7.0" ever since the start of the beta, which isnt really great and kinda confusing, might it not be better to show a version number which makes sense like for example 1.7.0-beta5 or showing the date of the last beta or whatever so one doesnt have to guess which is the recent version?

but we would also need help for inkscape or a similar vector tool.

I also hope it makes its way into designer. -
Support applying raster brushes to paths
My1 replied to Peter Werner's topic in Older Feedback & Suggestion Posts
I also support this feature. -
The Idea is simple. it is a pretty sad thing that the most awesome brushes are pixel brushes, a fact which obviously gets annoying when working with Affinity Designer because pixels dont really scale well, when you create big and want to go small you are gonna have artifacts and in the other direction obviously as well. so my Idea would be that when a pixel layer is created in Designer and Brushes are used, keep a log of what happened where, how etc., and allow for re-creating these with the proper parameters when exporting with different resolutions than the original. depending on the needs of each respective layer or project this could be a setting that could be set globally, per document or per layer. another simpler way would just be to always do these although for projects which are saved without history this would obviously increase the size at least a bit. (if saved with history the Brush tracing could just leave pointers to the history, which obviously would reduce the file size for that part.

well while I have no Idea about brazil and stuff, apple stuff is getting more expensive in the euro zone as well and windows is becoming worse and worse. isnt it possible to have affinity be a cross-platform sw that works with basically anything as long as serif would compile for it?

Is there a rgb/cmyk value tool?
My1 replied to ichijoe's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on macOS threads
okay sorry, I was googling and this thread came. well the eyedropper is not bad but it only shows the composite, I'd rather have an ARGB data of the layer/group I am working with so I can tell whether and by how much there's any color left at the edge. -

sorry for nero but I prefer to revive relevant posts rather than cluttering the forum with threads about the same thing. as far as I can see, this menu doesnt exist. -
Why in hell would one beed a file then close Action? There's iirc a close icon in mac, and for keyboard users, if mac doesn't ha e something like alt+f4 on windows it's really retarded
