    Hey Hey Máté,
I'm sorry your post was missed.
I've looked at this in further detail and it looks like this is happening because the macro is potentially looking at how many layers you started with. When it gets to that number of pastes it's dropping down a level.
We can reproduce this from scratch and if we start with 3 layers, it drops down on the 4th. If we start with 10 layers, it drops down on the 11th.

I have a macro to duplicate, arrange and group a label on an A4 sheet and wanted to save one more click but apparently the program doesn't want to select the first layer from the top.
    1. Affinity Photo 1.10.1.1142
    2. Can I reproduce it? Yes.
    3. Yes but I'll upload the files.

    Open "Label.afphoto" and "A4.afphoto"
Go to "Label" and click on "Group" then press Ctrl+C
Go to "A4" and press Ctrl+V
    Click on Macro

Once it finishes, hide the newly created group with the little tick box from the layers panel.
    Repeat Ctrl+V, hide
on the 5th repetition, the program will select the 2nd layer, on the 6th repetition it will select the 3rd and so on.

Hey guys! I'm on Photo v1.8.5.703, Windows 10, version 1909, OS build 18363.1082.
Photo jumbles up the coat of arms for me on this flag of Hungary: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Flag_of_Hungary_with_arms_(state).svg#/media/File:Flag_of_Hungary_with_arms_(state).svg

Came here to add my +1 for this feature as well. It would be convenient to have support variable fonts.

The 'Document Setup...' option on the Context toolbar only seems to be available in Affinity Designer. In Affinity Photo there is a 'Units' dropdown list on the Context toolbar when the View Tool [H] is active; alternatively, you can go to the Document menu and choose either 'Resize Document...' or 'Resize Canvas...' to display a dialog which includes a 'Units' dropdown.

Also (which I only learned of recently), on Windows one can select a pixel layer in the Layers panel, Ctrl+C to copy it, and Edit > Paste Special > PNG will give an (Image) copy of the (Pixel) layer. I've read reports that Affinity on Mac doesn't have Paste Special, so this might be Windows-specific.

You can also change the units from the Context toolbar when the View Tool (hand) is selected. Quicker than going into the Document menu.

Brushes have a "Protect Alpha" tickbox available is that what you're looking for ?

If you just wanna fill pixels that are on a transparent layer and you want to "lock" the transparency, there is no direct equivalent yet like you described. A workaround that I was suggested was to use the paintbrush on the layer but to click on Protect Alpha, and then you'd have to manually brush over your layer, not a big deal I guess, but I do too wish it was available in Photo.

Indeed, and one cannot say that Paint Shop Pro and Quark Express are hugely relevant in today's market.

Like many others, I do not have a separate file format for working and one for storing and have no plan to change that. It does not make sense, because I often go back to edits I made some times ago, occasionally I revisit old works and having to start all over would be a waste.

Insisting on making the afphoto a non-changeable default in Affinity Photo makes it totally impractical for opening a raw file and saving a file that any DAM can use. Period. And that means continued irrelevance for Affinity Photo because almost no pro will even consider it and most amateurs will give it a try, like I did, and only use it for a while until they realize the qualities of the program are not enough to justify the added inconvenience.

A few options while trying to guess what you mean (you might want to post more detail on your problem, preferably with examples, if none of these addresses your question):

If you have created a transparency mask in Affinity (either Affinity Photo or Affinity Designer) by dragging one layer onto the thumbnail of another layer (in the layers panel), you can right-click on the mask thumbnail image in the thumbnail and select Release Mask (note: you must right-click directly on the thumbnail, not on the general layer area). I think the Mac uses Ctrl-click as an alternative if you do not have a two-button mouse?

To create a new blank file with transparency in Affinity Designer or Affinity Photo, be sure to tick the Transparent Background checkbox.

To erase areas of an image in Affinity Photo, you can use selection tools and the Delete key on a keyboard, or the various eraser tools as shown below (and other techniques such as masking).
In Affinity Designer you can use the Pixel Persona and the Erase Brush tool to erase areas from an image or object (and masking and no doubt other techniques).

To save a file with transparency, you need to export in a format that supports transparency (such as PNG-24 - Affinity automatically recognises and includes transparent area information in the edited image), and not export in a format that does not support transparency (such as JPG/JPEG).

How you would set up FastStone viewer to show transparency in the exported image, I also have no idea (I prefer IrfanView as my image viewer) - you might have to ask FastStone.
